I didn't want to leave
You stood there for me
Sometimes,
It gets so cold outside
Then I wonder
Will I make it out alive
So I close my eyes
And think of you
Then I will never freeze
You are there for me
And I wonder,
Do the stars go home at night
Or do they shine on
Everything will be alright
Sometimes,
When the sun is shining bright
You are there for me
To shade me from the light
You are there for me
The Road
I drink all my whiskey
From an old masons’ jar
And I smoke
Too many cigarettes
Sometimes I get lonely
When I'm really far
And the road
Never lets me forget
As trees rush on by
On highway 495
I can hear you
In the back of my mind
Saying go on be safe
But hurry back home
I'll be here,
Just don't take too long
Now I'm out on the road
Just holding my own
And the cities
They change like the wind
But the lights on the marquee
They barely get old
Like the towns
And the places I've been
Now me and the wife
We barely get by
But there's one thing
That I know for sure
All the struggles we had
Have all passed us by
Like they have
Every other time before
Now I'm out on the road
Just holding my own
I'll be home soon
I won't take too long
Lately
Lately,
I have been thinking
About you
Lately,
I've been wondering
Just what to do
Maybe,
I've been
Holding in my cries
But we know now
It's not too late
And I want that,
Just me and you
Paired as two
Walking Central Park
I Want You Back
I’m sitting here waiting for you
I don’t know
What am I to do
You left me here
All alone
With nothing in this house
To call my own
So I want you back
But things will never change
Same routine I guess
Things just stay the same
And I need you more
More than you will ever know
There is more, I have to share
So please take it from me
I am more than half the man
You thought I would be
What more should I do
Go outside and scream
I LOVE YOU
Now, I want you back
More than you should know
There is more, I have to share
There is more, you need to know
But you’ll never change
Things will always, stay the same
Out My Window
As I stare out the window
Watching the clouds go rolling by
I think of you,
As I stare out my window
Watching the people walk on by
I dream of you,
And I want you so much
It hurts
I want to squeeze you
Till you burst
I want to taste
Your lips on mine
And I want you to know
Till the end of time
Just like my window
You'll always be mine
Tonight
Tell me tonight
That you love me
And tell me tonight
That you care
I’ll tell you tonight
I don’t want you to go home
And tell me tonight
You’ll be there
I know you’ll be right here
When I fall
I know you’ll hold my hand
Through it all
I know we’ll love again
So please take my hand
Be my girlfriend,
So tell me tonight
That you hate me
I’ll tell you tonight
If I care
Tell me tonight
That you want me to go home
I’ll tell you off tonight
This I swear
And you won’t be there
When I fall
Never hold my hand
No not at all
Someday, you will love again
Just not with me
Right One For Me
Let's give it up
So no one else will find out
What we’ve done last night
Can you keep a secret
From your mom and dad
Don’t let them know
That I love you
You are the right one for me
And I don’t know
Why when or how
I never gave a second thought
As why we are together
Skies have cleared
And the weathers getting fine
Lost Without My Brain
Why can’t I find an escape
From this hell I am living in
Struck down from society
My hands my only friend
Why can’t I find a solution
To this problem that I’ve got
Should I find a way to ignore it
Or just try to explore it
Am I insane,
Do you think that I am
Well that doesn't mean a thing
I start flipping out
Every time my phone rings
So I am lost without my brain
And I can’t regain it back
Won’t you tell me
Just where I went wrong
My History
I came home
To find all my stuff
Piled on the lawn
She told me
This was the last time
You have done me wrong
I can’t remember
When I did
All those things you said
Now I come home
To find another man in my bed
So I’m not the one to blame
And you should be ashamed
That you,
Ripped my heart in two
And I want nothing more
Then to see you
Come back for more
You and me
We are through
The next day
She knocked, upon my door
She told me
She was wrong
Like so many times
I heard this before
And I, still can’t remember
When I did all those things you said
To come home
And find another man in my bed
So I’m not the one to blame
And you should be ashamed
That you,
Ripped my heart in two
And I want nothing more
Then to see you
Come back for more
You and me
We are through
Another Love Song
And I,
Wanted it to be
Something more
Than just
Another thought of you
And I,
Feel I’m all alo
ne
All alone,
In a great big shell
I call my home
My tears,
Running down my face
Causes me to think
Of what I have done
And my heart,
Is pounding out my chest
Feels like,
I can’t catch my breath
It’s not a mystery to me
It’s how I feel
Looks like I am sleeping
All alone again
And you’re,
Everywhere I go
I’m not noticed
Just laughed at again
This sucks,
I’ll never get laid
I’ll never hear you
Call out my name
And I,
Feel I’m so alone
All alone in a great big shell
I call my home
Nothing Much
All these things
I said to you
Have all passed me by
And all those words
I’ve spoken to you
That made you cry
I sound too demanding
And you’re right
You look, frightened tonight
You said to me
You’re leaving
You said to me
I am nothing much
Well time,
Is not on my side now
I feel I’ve been cheated
I’m lost and can’t be found
You were my only ground
You said to me
You’re leaving
You said to me
I am nothing much
I guess, she’s leaving nothing much
Sunshine
I look forward
To the sunshine
But what if
It went away
Through the darkness
Then I would see
No silhouette of me
What if,
The sunshine came back
And made my shadow
Appear then crack
I would pick it up
And carry it on my back
I look forward
To the sunshine
I Can’t Wait Here
It’s been such a long time
How have you been
I don’t know
If I’ll ever see you again
But I will wait here
It would be good to see you
I thought you should know
I’ve carried your photo
Wherever I go
You mean so much to me
And you’re all that I see
There’s no place I’d rather be
Than in your arms
For eternity
Hello and goodbye
My dearest friend
I am so glad
I’ve been able, to see you again
Was real good to see you
I just want you to know
I’ve carried your photo
Wherever I go
But I can’t wait here
My Old Town
I drove through my old town
Like I have,
A hundred times before
Things still seem the same
But I wanted something more
The feelings I have
Are all mixed up inside
Some of them good
Some of them I try to hide
The houses have changed
Some older and worn
The pavement looks cracked
From the cold winter storms
But all in all
This town's held its own
Even though, not one house
Is a house
I call home
The Sky Is On Fire
The sky is on fire
The sky is on fire
What do I do
What do I do
Should I use the hydrant
To put out the flames
Should I use my mind
To save me from pain
Will it ever burn out
Or toast us alive
These things,
I can’t answer
These things,
I can’t hide
Maybe in time
It will ash out
The sky is on fire
Without any doubt
So let's sit and wait
And see what becomes
If we burn up
Then see how we run
The sky is on fire
What do we do
I say wait a bit
Maybe we’ll pull through
Hiding
I sit here
With the breeze
Blowing on my neck
The window is open
I can hear the birds singing
I somehow can’t process
These things that I feel
Should I tuck them
Deep inside
Put on my mask
So I can just hide
That’s how I feel
No,
Put on your brave face
It’s okay come out
Put it on and waste the day
They won’t see through
This I can swear
I’ll hide behind something
If not from the air
Maybe the wind
Or maybe the clouds
It makes no sense
To sit here and shrew
I’ll put on my fake smile
I’ll wear it for you
An Altered Mind
Hello there,
What do you say
Do you know me
I am the darkness
I am the snake
I am the shadow
Behind that door
I am the demon
That haunts forevermore
I am the one
That hides under the bed
That makes all that noise
That gets in your head
I am the one
Who can rattle that brain
I am the one
They call insane
Get yourself together
And maybe I’ll go
It will be our little secret
No one needs to know
Time
Time,
What is time
I’d like to alter it
Maybe hit rewind
Let’s take,
The hands on the clock
Spin them backwards
Fast enough for time to stop
Let’s reflect on the past
Just a moment
It won’t last
Let’s do the things
We wished we had done
We have some time
So let’s have some fun
We’ll create a new path
Maybe through dirt
Maybe through grass
Everyone needs
A do over
Everyone needs
A million do overs
But there's not enough time
Mindfreak
You would lose your mind
Trying to understand mine
You would lose your soul
If you knew
What I know
You couldn’t understand
When I am left
With my idle hands
And I look to the mirror
What do I see
Just an empty shell
Staring back at me
I’m just a man
Trying to break free
But I feel like a mindfreak
That’s become me
Close My Eyes
If I ever close my eyes
And think,
Of the times we’ve had
If I ever close my eyes
And think,
Of those moments
/> That made us who we are
I will be there, waiting for you
I will be there hoping
For us to pull through
I don’t want to be over you
I just want to feel like you do
Everyday in everyway
Like you do
So I’ll never close my eyes
And everything will be fine
Everything's just fine
Everything seems fine
Seasons
When the snow
Starts to fall
It quiets down
One and all
As the rain
Hits the ground
It makes that
Pitter patter sound
Then the sun
Comes out to play
It gives all life
Another day
Till the leaves
Fall from the trees
To make things new
