Read A Good Deed Page 7

The Ghosts of Camals College (Second Edition): Smelly pirates and charging rhinoceros - Grace Darling is very good at inventing games, but when supernatural forces take her prisoner, she soon learns that some games can be very dangerous…even deadly. Why was she taken to such a strange and spooky place, and what is the connection to her father?

Professor Lution, the Chancellor of Camals, (The College of Customs and Myths and Legends), has a problem. Although there have been Darlings at Camals for generations, there is considerable opposition to the latest candidate, Grace. As a compromise, Professor Lution proposes conducting a suitability test, which on the surface is relatively simple – follow the clues to find a book.

Being ignorant of these facts, Grace is introduced to the world of the supernatural, and finds herself in Beatrigone, which is in effect, a giant film set. But then the test is hijacked by the evil genius, Viletrix, who has a hideous spectral army at his command.

Camals has no control over those…down below, and so with the assistance of Wendy Wallace – who just 'happens' to be there, Arjunar – a historical archer, Gwiffyn - a mysterious wise woman, and four very angry Incan ghosts, plus many other ‘creatures’ who are not what they seem, Grace and Beatrigone fight for survival. But even when the battle is over, not everything has ended.

Although primarily aimed at age 12+, any BIG kid can read it.

The Sisterhood – Curse of Abbot Hewitt: Who said all the members of a witches’ covenant were the best of friends?

Before being unjustly hanged, Abbot John Hewitt places a malediction on Margaret Dymock, the newly born baby of reputed warlock, Einyon Dymock.

Eighty-four years later, and with their contract with the ‘Master’ about to expire, three old witches battle for survival, and the only guarantee of success is the sacrificial deflowering of a virgin. Without conscience, the three hags set their sights on Lavinia Ashmore, a pretty maiden and the granddaughter of Margaret Dymock.

The village of Holton bears the brunt of the feuding forces, and then one of the witches renounces her former life. She goes into hiding, unaware that she has fallen under the protection of Abbot Hewitt, or more accurately, his ghost. But the prelate’s agenda is not strictly benevolent, for the man who hanged him, Einyon Dymock, is now a sex-crazed demonic entity.

Meanwhile, an obnoxious solicitor, Horace Twissleton, is determined to execute every witch in the area…even if he has to fabricate the evidence. His incompetence and zealousness spark a series of horrific and disastrous events, the ramifications of which are destined to endure for centuries.

The Ghostly Victorians (Author’s Edition): What happens when you accidentally annoy a ghost, or seek an ancient treasure guarded by a hideous entity? Why did the wall suddenly ‘bulge’, and why can’t Gilly remember attending the ball? Is that really a wolf outside the door?

These twelve enthralling stories, set in the Victorian era, follow in the footsteps of Edgar Alan Poe, and Montague James. “We are all as great as our daydreams…or our nightmares.”
