The two drove in silence until they got to Nicolette’s place.
“This is where you live?” asked Sav as she stared at the not-so-little-not-so-big cabin in front of her eyes.
“Yes why you don’t like it here?” replied Nikki as she opened the car door and jumped out
“I do. But it’s too far from town” said Savannah as she followed Nikki to the back of the car to unload the trunk
“Afraid that I might try to kill you here and that you cannot get help from people?” said Nikki jokingly as she took a bag out of the trunk and walked towards the cabin
“No not really. But I’m afraid it will be the other way around” replied Savannah with a smirk. Unsure if the girl was serious or not, Nicolette just laughed at the idea.
“Well I don’t think that will happen, you wouldn’t kill someone who sincerely helped you, would you?” said Nicolette with a smile on her face “Anyway, come on now and let’s get you settled in your room and let’s make some food…I’m starved”
The girl nodded and walked into the house with Nicolette.
Chapter 5
As the two entered the house, Nicolette ran and jumped on to the couch making herself comfortable while Savannah searched for the kitchen and got drinks for both of them.
“I was going to get you food but I did not see any ready to eat food in your fridge” said Sav as she held the drink out to Nikki.
“Oh yea…sorry I don’t keep instant food” replied Nicolette as she took the drink
“What would you eat then?” asked Sav as she settled herself on the couch beside Nicolette
“I’ve ordered pizza it should be here by now” replied Nikki as she reached for her phone in her pant pocket to check the time
“But the town is half an hour away from here…if you just ordered it wouldn’t be here by now but instead, an hour later” said Sav with confused look in her eyes
“Who said I just called in? I called when we went out of the hospital” said Nicolette winking at the girl.
The doorbell rang a moment later indicating that their food is here. Nicolette jumped out of the couch and ran to the door and opened it.
“Uh uhm Miss Nicolette Findley?” said the delivery boy as he held the box out to Nicolette
“Yes that’s me” said Nicolette smiling at the boy as she took the box and took a bill from her back pocket and gave it to the boy.
“Thank you” she then said as she went to close the door
“You’re welcome” the boy called out as he stepped back and turned around to leave
“Food’s here” Nicolette called to Savannah as she walked back towards the couch where the other girl is settled
Nicolette put the box on top of the table in front of the couch and as she opened it, she asked Sav “You up for Hawaiian?”
“Yeah I’m up for anything” answered the girl with a grin on her face
“Good cause that’s all we have for now” said Nicolette as she let herself fall back into the couch
The two ate in peace when Savannah finally talked breaking the deafening silence between them.
“So…why did you choose to live in here instead of the town?” she asked taking her last bite of pizza
“Well, obviously, I wanted to live peacefully, without people bugging me about things and I hate the busy life in town. Like every morning, you would hear car horns honking, people shouting and dogs barking.” Replied Nicolette as she took a gulp on her drink
“I see… well I don’t really know how it is in town, even that thing, I cannot remember but I think you have a point about living peacefully” said Savannah as she stared out the window to the woods
Nicolette stared at the girl and reached out her hand to touch Savannah’s. “You will remember soon…don’t worry and just take your time remembering. I’m here to support you” said Nicolette as she squeezed the girl’s hand in hers
Savannah looked at Nicolette’s eyes and smiled. It was the first real smile she had since the day of her accident and Nicolette was happy to see her smile for the first time.
“Thank you” said Savannah who now had tears streaming down her face as she smiled at the idea that she has someone who sincerely wanted her to be safe and secured
“Oh no, it’s not free” said Nicolette grinning as she took her last bite of pizza and taking the last drop of her drink
“What? What can I do to pay you then?” asked Savannah as she grinned back at Nicolette knowing it was a joke
“Well, what can two girls in a lonely cabin do together?” replied Nicolette with a wide predatory smile on her face as she slowly crawled towards Savannah
“I get your point, you wanna watch TV?” said Sav laughing at Nicolette as she grabbed her and snuggled into her
Nicolette looked up to Savannah and straight to her eyes, she stared. A moment of silence came in until Nicolette broke it and said “TV. Right. We can watch TV together” she pouted her lips and went to lay her head on Savannah’s lap like a child.
Savannah brushed Nicolette’s hair with her fingers as they watched together. The two stayed like that for quite some time until Nicolette fell asleep in her position. Savannah watched Nicolette sleeping on her lap and after a while, found herself planting a soft passionate kiss on Nicolette’s lips. The kiss awoken Nicolette and Savannah quickly drew back, not knowing what to say, she looked away. Nicolette smiled and got up to her feet holding her hand out to Savannah “Would you want to come walk to the forest?” she said taking Savannah’s hand by hers.
“S-sure I would love to” replied Sav as she stood up and smiled at Nicolette
Together, they walked into the deepest part of the forest.
Chapter 6
“Here is my favorite spot. I go here every time I feel down and depressed” said Nicolette when they arrived to the center of the forest where trees are formed in a circle and there is a single sun light coming through them, lighting the huge rock in the center of the trees. She climbed up the rock holding and as she reached the top, she looked down at Savannah and reached her hand telling her to come up with her.
Savannah climbed up to Nicolette and they both stared at the nothingness of the forest seated on top of the rock, they listened to the nature’s music--birds chirping, trees swaying and wind blowing--as they both leaned backwards, their arms supporting their bodies, and felt the soft blow of the wind in their faces.
“This is relaxing” Savannah finally said looking at Nicolette and smiling
“Yes it is” replied Nicolette as she smiled back at the girl and laying down to her back to see the clear sky above their heads
Savannah looked at Nicolette with the thought of kissing her again. Nikki who was staring at sky turned to Savannah and she saw for the first time how beautiful and deep her gray eyes are. The two just stared at each other for a while then breaking the stare and silence between them, Nicolette reached her hand to Savannah’s and pulled her down to her. There, Nicolette planted a soft, passionate kiss on Savannah’s lips. Surprised as she was, Sav kissed Nicolette back with all her passion.
“That’s a payback for what you did earlier” said a grinning Nicolette after the kiss was broken.
Savannah smiled and leaned to kiss Nicolette again and both of them gave in to the sensation they’re both feeling.
As the two were making out, Savannah suddenly felt unease, her head throbbed which caused them to break the kiss. “What’s wrong?” asked Nicolette as she drew back and looked at the girl
“I-I don’t know” replied Savannah and before she can start to speak again, she passed out
Appalled Nicolette didn’t know what to do. She frantically checked Savannah’s pulse and reached for her phone from the back pocket of her pants. But before she could dial a number, Savannah woke up and pushed her. Nicolette then fell down to the ground from above the rock. Shocked, Nicolette tried to stand up but failed. Savannah jumped from above the rock and landing on her fe
et in front of Nicolette, she then walked to her, leaned down, her feet apart and Nicolette’s body in between her legs, and held Nicolette’s hand above her head with her left hand as her right hand blindly searched for a rock.
With the rock she had in her hand, she unconsciously hit Nicolette’s head so hard causing it to bleed and making the girl fall unconscious, and with tears in her eyes, she sat beside the unconscious bleeding girl trembling.
“What have I done?” she said under her breath as she trembled and cried until she fell asleep beside Nicolette
Savannah woke up half an hour later and saw Nicolette still lying unconscious beside her. She was shocked when she saw blood all over Nikki’s head and face; she frantically shook her body and woke her up.
Nicolette responded with a low moan and eventually opened her left eye seeing Savannah in front of her crying and speaking but she couldn’t make the words she’s saying.
“Nikki…Nikki what happened?” asked Savannah as she cried and took Nicolette by her hand to help her get up
“Y-y-you…” said Nicolette as she tried to stand up with Savannah’s help “You hit me…you hit me with a rock” she said weakly
“I-I did?” asked Savannah as she sat Nicolette on the rock and piggybacked her
As they walked back to the cabin, Savannah spoke. “I-I can’t remember hitting you, why would I do that. I-I wouldn’t do such a thing”
“It’s alright Sav, don’t worry I’m okay now” replied Nicolette as she rested her head on Savannah’s shoulder
“I’m so sorry for whatever I have done to you. Please forgive me” said Savannah as she continued carrying the girl back to the cabin
Nicolette did not answer for she has fallen back to sleep.
A moment later, they were back in the cabin, Savannah laid Nicolette down on the couch and rushed to the bathroom to get the first aid kit Nicolette was hiding in the cabinet above the sink. She ran back to Nicolette and cleaned her wound. She reached for Nicolette’s phone and dialed the hospital’s number to ask for a doctor to come see Nicolette.
An hour later, the doctor came. Savannah lead him to Nicolette who’s now sitting on the couch, her head on her hand, she looked up and greeted the doctor.
“What happened to your head?” asked the doctor
“I accidentally fall and hit my head on a rock when we were in the forest” replied Nicolette as she looked at Savannah with her eyes saying don’t say anything
Savannah got her hint and did not talk but deep inside she felt guilty of what happened although she doesn’t remember anything. Nicolette wouldn’t lie to her and the fact that they are the only people in the forest, no one could’ve done that but her.
The doctor checked Nicolette’s wound and put a bandage on it.
“It’s not that bad” said the doctor as he reached for his bag and took out a small bottle out
“Here are some antibiotics and pain killer for your wound…take the antibiotic twice a day and the pain killer in times that you feel pain” he continued as he stood up and about to leave
“Thank you doctor” said Nicolette smiling at the doctor
“Thank you” said Savannah after Nikki as she lead the doctor out
Chapter 7
“I’m so sorry” said Savannah as she walked back to the couch where Nicolette is sitting.
Nicolette smiled at her “Come sit with me” she said.
Savannah obeyed and sat next to Nicolette. The two looked at each other for quite some time and the pain and uneasy feeling that Nicolette had inside her were all washed away.
“I’m really sorry Nik…you mean a lot to me I wouldn’t want to hurt you in anyway” Savannah said as she held Nicolette’s hand
“It’s fine Sav…and really I mean that much to you?” Nicolette asked grinning at the girl
“Yes you do…” replied Sav as she pulled Nicolette and hugged her tight “I might not know or remember you now but I can feel inside me that you are the one I want and love” she continued.
Nicolette was surprised to the girl’s confession. No one has ever captured her the way this girl did and with those words from Savannah’s mouth, she smiled as tears streamed down her face due to joy. She drew back from the hug and kissed Savannah on her lips. They made out for almost five minutes.
Savannah broke the kiss afterwards and checked Nicolette’s head.
“Are you sure you are feeling better now?” she asked putting her hands over Nicolette’s shoulder making Nikki look at her
Nicolette gave her an assuring smile “Yes I am. Don’t worry too much” she said as she laid down, her head on Savannah’s lap
“I can’t help but worry. I was the one who did this to you as you said earlier and I’m afraid I might hurt you again” Sav said as she looked at Nicolette
“It might be the impact of your accident a week ago, you said your head hurt…maybe you’re remembering something?” said Nicolette getting comfy on Savannah’s lap
“I don’t know…there’s nothing.”
“Don’t think too much, you’ll exhaust yourself you might pass out again. I wouldn’t know what to do if you pass out on me again”
Savannah was shocked at what Nicolette said…”I passed out?” she asked
“Yes you did and I was going to call an ambulance but you woke up and pushed me then I fell on the ground” replied Nicolette who’s now getting up and fixing herself on the couch looking at Savannah, “I tried to get up but I fell back down cause I was shocked at what you did then you jumped down on me…in your eyes I saw hatred and fear” she continued still looking at the girl who now has tears running down her face
“H-hatred and fear?” Savannah asked as she wiped the tears in her eyes
“Yes… I don’t know what or who you hate and what you fear but whatever it is, just know that I’m here for you, with you. I love you Savvy I know it’s weird cause we just met more than a week ago but I just felt it. I fell in love with you right at that moment you smiled at me at my parents’ anniversary party” said Nicolette as she pulled the girl close to her and hugged her letting the girl rest her head on her chest
The two snuggled until both of them fell asleep.

Morning came…Nicolette woke up to the sound of a girl humming. She got up and walked to where the humming is coming from, the kitchen. Savannah who was making breakfast for her, greeted her with a warm sweet smile on her face.
“Good morning sleepy head” she said to Nicolette who was now sitting in front of the counter
“Good morning gorgeous” said Nicolette as she sat down and waited for whatever the girl will serve in front of her
“I was going to make a heavier one cause I remember we did not had any dinner last night but I couldn’t find anything to cook but this but I hope you still enjoy it” said Savannah as she put a plate of pancakes with butter and maple syrup and a cup of coffee on front of Nicolette
Nicolette smiled “It’s alright. This will do and thank you” she said as she took a bite of her pancakes
“Enjoy your meal then” said Savannah as she took a sit next to Nicolette and watched her eat
“Don’t just stare there you know it’s rude to stare. Come eat with me” said Nicolette as she gave Savannah a bite of pancake
Savannah took the bite and smiled.
“About what you told me last night….” said Sav trying to start a conversation with Nicolette, “You’re in love with me? I mean I I don’t mean to pry but are you in any way in love with me?” she continued as her face flashed red
Nicolette looked up at her with squinted eyes, “What do you think?” she asked
“W-well I uhm I don’t really know if you meant it or you were just having a concussion due to what I did” said Savannah fixing herself in her seat
“I mean it…I really do mean everything I said. From you blowing my head off is okay to me falling in love with you. It’s all true and I mean it all. I love you” said
Nicolette as she took a sip of her coffee
Savannah took a deep breath “I’m glad to hear that, I thought I was the only one who was feeling that way…I didn’t expect the feeling would be mutual” she said smiling at Nicolette
Nicolette looked straight into Savannah’s eyes and smiled widely to her ear, “So you’re saying you love me too? That you’re in love with me too?” she said.
“Yes I do love you too. I’m in love with you too” said Savannah as she stood up to her feet and walked to Nicolette’s back and hugged her from behind.
Nicolette blushed and turned around to kiss her. “So we’re like girlfriends now? Since we’ve just confessed our love for each other… I mean that’s where this will go right?” she said when she broke the kiss and Savannah nodded childishly.
Chapter 8
The two lived happily together for 8 weeks until that one night…
Savannah and Nicolette were peacefully sleeping snuggled into each other when Savannah again lost herself. She got up, stood by Nicolette’s side and stared at the sleeping girl. Her presence standing there woke Nicolette up.
“What are you doing?” asked Nicolette as she looked at the girl with squinted eyes
The girl did not reply, instead, she walked out the room. Nicolette, confused as she was, got up and followed the girl.
“Baby stop…where are you going? She asked but then again, the girl just continued walking
She did not have a choice but to follow the girl and when she caught up with her, she took her by the hand and turned her around.
“Are you alright? What’s happening?” she asked again but the girl did not reply, instead she smirked and brushed her hand off and walked out the cabin into the darkness of the forest barefooted
“Savannah!” yelled Nicolette who’s now losing her patience “Stop right there! Where are you going at this time of the night?” she called out but the girl has gone into the darkness.
Scared as she was, Nicolette followed her to the forest. “Savannah!” she called out
“I’m here” The girl finally said as she showed herself to Nicolette and lead her to the darkness
“Where are you going? What’s gotten into you?” Nicolette asked but the girl just continued walking until they got into the darkest part of the forest
