  “Yes, it was that bad.” She told him what had happened with the Major, “Jerry, Jane set me up, I can’t trust people like that. I’ve broken our wedding vows, and I will do what you want me too. I won’t contest a divorce.”

  “Divorce you? I’m not going to divorce you. The CIA set me up too, I’ve been a fool. I’ll not sacrifice my family for them. It’s been my fault all along, you tried to tell me about God, and I wouldn’t listen. I got a wakeup call out there.”

  As he was talking the flap of the mail door made a noise as it slapped back down, “What is that? The mail has already run.” Ellen got up to go see.

  She brought the thick envelope to him, “Its from the DOD.”

  He opened the envelope to find a deed to the farm, and other necessary papers. “It’s the deed to our farm honey.”

  “A farm in Atlanta?”

  “No in Missouri, do you remember the farm near Springfield you said you would like to own someday?”

  “The one with the Orchard?”

  “Yes, that’s the one.”

  “Oh yes, that was near Brother Rupert’s church.”

  “Its ours, free and clear on one condition.”

  “What’s that? I was afraid there was a catch.”

  “That you take me to church every Sunday.”

  She plopped back down in his lap, “I can manage that Mr. Gray.”
