Back at the settlement of the Wild Men, all that were left of that race were being tied to poles for ease of transport back to the Mirkoid commune. The Mirkoid found items left behind by Andreas, Nicholas and Achil. They looked at them curiously, not really understanding why they were there. They could tell that they did not belong to the Wild People, but then who did they belong to? They also noticed that some of their dead had been killed, and not by Wild Men. Then one of the Mirkoid, who had been looking round the camp shouted to the others, he had found some strange tracks disappearing into the trees, they gathered round them perceiving a new threat to their world, another cried out, it did appear that the horses had been shod. One of them spoke up, an elder among them who recalled that before the age of the Dragons, and the wrath of the Gods, the Mirkoid in their past had had dealings with other peoples, before they sought sanctuary in isolation and secrecy. If these new tracks were to be believed, then they could signal a return to the older days, before their rebirth. And that might prove a danger; indeed it might prove an end to the Mirkoid way of life. With that they divided their group. The Wild Men would be taken back to their commune, whilst the others would seek out the outsiders and find out their true intent and if necessary kill them. The Mirkoid needed to know who it was that had invaded their territory.
