The two guards that had confronted Jin were Nicholas and Andreas.
“Well that’s odd,” said Nicholas.
Andreas gave him a puzzled look.
“Let me get this straight, we have fought against the Vendigo and Wolfmen, and seen the Orochi up close, and you think that’s odd.”
Andreas and Nicholas returned to staring out across the covered plain of Findolin.
“After all this time," said Andreas. “I would have hoped you would have come up with something a little more constructive than, that‘s odd.”
With that Nicholas crouched down picked up a bow and fired an arrow over the battlements and onto the ramp. There was a yelp, as some shadowy figure seemed to stumble and fall to the ground.
Nicholas with a mischievous glint in his eye shrugged. “How’s that for constructive.”
Andreas glared back at him, arms folded, shaking his head as if admonishing an unruly child.
“Very good, one down, an entire Empire to go,” replied Andreas.
