saying without thinking.
The body of the Captain twitched violently as the battle waged on inside it. His arms clawed at his back as he staggered.
“Let. Him. Go. Now!” The Helms screamed into her headset.
The Captain lurked backward, hit the edge of wall and tumbled out of the airlock.
“No!” The Executive Officer screamed as she watched.
The Captain’s body screamed then a whisper came over coms.
“Lock… it.”
“Captain!”
“Do… it.”
The Executive Officer stared at the monitor for the external camera. The body of the Captain was still within reach of the ship.
“An.. order.”
The Executive Officer entered her security code and the outer door for the ship’s Airlock sealed itself. She then brought up the external camera into fullscreen. In corner of the view the Captain’s body slowly stopped fighting and went limp. She watched as it floated away from the ship and into the infinite black.
Several metres away from the ship the body of the Captain spasmed and his lifeless chest shot forward. Out of it came a small, silent rock.
