Read Always Be There Page 5

The outdoor venue was full of people. They raised high ‘Life’ banners to support them. Adam’s skin suddenly lumped, he felt like something bad had happened. While he was singing the favorite song of Reese in front of the New York audience, he thought of Reese’s beautiful attractive face. But he forced himself to concentrate on the song before finishing it as a professional singer.

They finished the song and attempted to start another, the curtain on the stage suddenly descend. The band looked over at the backstage for instruction, and their manager whispered, ‘Adam we needed you.’ He appeared to be so serious about it, something bad. He thought.

‘They’ll be back in a few minutes. Ladies and gentlemen.’ The host of the concert said in front of the crowd.

‘Have we done something wrong? Boss?’ Raul asked.

‘No, you guys did well. But, Adam, May I speak to you for a second?’ Frank asked with a bitter smile.

‘Sure.’ Adam answered and walked beside from the band mates.

Karle and Ryan saw Frank whispered something behind his ear, while Max and Raul had some alone time on the chairs and Adam swallowed with eyes widened, ‘You kidding me?’ Adam’s voice shaken.

“I’m sorry. Ad.’ Frank spook with sympathy, and giving him comfort following with Adam’s tears.

Karle and Ryan looked at each other curiously. What? They thought.

‘No.’ Adam shouted with consternation, and found a wall for support. He cried on the floor, and messed his tidy hair with his hands. ‘I should have known this morning.’ He punched his fist on to the wall. ‘No.’ he shouted again.

‘Hey, Adam. What’s wrong?’ Max asked. Karle, Ryan and Raul surrounded Adam with their hand on his shoulder to give him comfort. He didn’t reply.

Karle and Max looked up at Frank for answer. ‘It’s Reese. She passed.’ Frank forced a smile.

‘Oh my God.’ Karle said. ‘We have just seen her the day before.’ Feeling impossible about the death of his best female friend, what a shame to tear this lovely couple apart.

‘Hey, Ad. She wouldn’t want to see you like that.’ Raul attempted to give him comfort.

‘She would have wanted to see me.’ He shouted, feeling guilty of not staying beside her. ‘You know, I should have known this morning. She looked pale and tired than ever this afternoon, and she hugged me so hard before I left home. What a stupid, I am. She didn’t deserve this. Without me beside her’ He hit the floor with his hand furiously so mad at himself not understanding her weird behavior early today. His tears couldn’t stop coming from his eyes.

‘She’s fine in heaven. I am sure.’ Ryan, the most optimistic said with sorry and pity.

‘If you want you could go now.’ Frank offering him an opportunity to be by her side. But dead was dead. Reese had gone.

‘No, she didn’t tell me because she didn’t want me to be distracted. I should finished the concert.’ He said. It made no different now, even he rushed back to San Diego.

‘Alright. We will support you. Ad.’ Max said.

“Thank you.’ He seemed much calmer now, he suspect the intention of Reese. She wanted him successful and great. Then, he would.

‘Do me a favor, guys.’ He requested to his best friends.

‘Yeah. What is that?’ they asked……………

‘We are going to perform a brand new song, which we decided to release it after the concert. But today is a very meaningful day to me, so. We would love to sing it exclusively to you all now.’ Adam said in front of the audience, and applauses and claps came rapidly.

He glanced up into the sky that seemed it could connect his heart with Reese’s, no matter how far they are apart. And there he sang….

‘I found you in the dry cold Bise

I saw the way you look into my eyes

It made everything completed in my life

When I got you into my clasp

We experienced the best from God

  Laying freely on the grasses

The warmth was written on your face

I was so glad I found you in my life

I am now surrounded by a millions of people

But I still feel so alone without you

There is an empty space in my heart

We are now so far apart

I am so far from where you are

  But I’ll see you again

Where the blues meets the sky

Stay there still and wait for me……’
