“The werewolf was deceased, defunct, departed. Slain in a heartbeat,” he whispered dramatically.
“But how?” Eye Patch demanded.
“What killed it?” Betsy asked, agog.
Jake took a final swig of his ale. Not a drop remained. Time to divulge the punch line.
