them, but from there she could do the one thing she was interested in doing…opening a portal to her home world. “I’ve been trying to enhance this object here to open the portal but it works easier from my side to get here but not the other way around.”

While Kirka talked the four warriors tried to break into central control before she could open the portals. “I took over Kirka’s body and Rilo whole heartily believed that she had been kidnapped, which was a little true.” She flashed a big smile. “I led Rilo straight to my other Cugan counterpart, and now we’re here for your beautiful planet. You know it’s not fair. We had to do something, even if I fail today, I’ll know that we tried.”

The warriors got through Rilo stood up and tried to fight them, the four knew it was a losing battle; they let Lovo handle Rilo while Trystan ordered Kirka to stop what she was doing. She pushed her chair and stood up with her hands in the air, “Activate.” She shouted.

Not one but several portals opened all over Deltor. Trystan thinking quickly grabbed Kirka; Mallobo saw what he was doing and did the same thing with Rilo. They forced Kirka and Rilo into touching the touchpad on the computer and the Cugan that inhabited them left their hosts and through the device that they used to cross over to Deltor. Kirka and Rilo fell to the grown and seconds after the portals opened they closed.

“Call the technology department and make sure all of the portals have closed.” Lovo commanded.

The warriors couldn’t figure out how to send Frok and Shi back to their home world, but they were able to release them from the twin hosts that they resided in. They told the warriors were they hid the family of Trelo, their financial source. They were put into a timed state of sleep not far from the palace.

“They’ll wake up soon.” Lovo reported after she rescued the family of Trelo’s wife and daughters.

Dajus examined the technology that can bind and unbind two or more entities for herself and asked FrokShi if the device would work for her and the Skyro. FrokShi looked up at Dajus and shook its head. “Maybe if the Skyro had taken you over within a week or so, but the longer it lives inside you the more bonded you become, your psyche wouldn’t be able to handle a direct and harsh sever like that. It would be too traumatic for you to withstand. Not to mention the fact that they Skyro might win your body over entirely. The device we used to separate and reconnect with one another makes it easier for us, it’s something that we can do naturally but the Apon device is really only used for Cugans, I’m sorry. I don’t know why, but I would like to help you, even though you did make it seem as if you killed my sister.”

Dajus was sad but tried her best to hide it, she had a tiny glimmer of hope snatched away so quickly, “But I didn’t.”

“Would you have really done it? I saw what you did to your solider.”

“I would not have killed your sister, but the Skyro would have, just like she killed my soldier.” Dajus looked sad. “I hope that our technology advances enough to help me one day.”

Dajus guessed that FrokShi was only as calm as they were because Frok thought that his sister had died. Even though they will never be released they seemed at peace because they were together.

‘I’m surprised at you, trying to get rid of me again. I thought we were bonding. You seemed to enjoy that little snack we had together.’ Dajus thought back to the Veko that she took the time to roast and eat. ‘Tasty wasn’t it?’ Dajus prayed to Yeshua that she would be free of this Skyro’s disease.

While Dajus stared at the ceiling of her bedroom and listened to the taunts of the Skyro. Lovo and Trystan sat down on the balcony and watched the sun rise. They thought about the soldiers they lost and the two talked about how they would strengthen the morale of their warriors.

“Rilo will never forgive himself.” Lovo said as she reclined in the chair.

“Maybe that’s a good thing, he’ll spread the word about how he was caught off guard and the others will be more on point.” Trystan wondered.

“Or they’ll go crazy always looking over their shoulders.” Lovo said.

“Shouldn’t they? We’re in a war. Rilo… he got lucky, but he’s no better or no different than any of our own unit commanders, it could’ve been any of our commanders who got caught off guard. We’ve all been ignoring that bad feeling that we’ve all been getting. As if something large were moving towards us, almost like we’re standing in the dark just waiting for something bad to happen to us and we’re unarmed.” Mallobo thought back to Elva.

“Why do they come here?” Lovo asked the others.

Trystan shrugged his shoulders. Mallobo knew the truth, but he decided to keep it to himself. The universe was changing in a way that he could not fully comprehend. He made his way down the hall to speak to the Cugan everyone now knew as FrokShi. He looked on in horror at the sight that he saw, the floor felt as if it fell from underneath him and he felt shame. ‘I should have known better.’

The headless FrokShi was a gruesome scene one that wouldn’t leave Mallobo’s mind for the rest of his life. He leaned against the walls of the room and felt a surge of a memory run through him, he wasn’t present during the murder of FrokShi, but the event was left behind in the walls for only him to access.

Elva stood with her arms crossed in a long white dress; she smirked at FrokShi as she handed down the sentence, two burly creatures stood at each of her sides. They were grey and black and seemed to be made of stone, even though they were humanoid in shape. Their white eyes fixated on FrokShi. Mallobo could hear the low grunts coming from the two of them. He hadn’t seen anything like them. Elva finished listing FrokShi’s crimes, “And you are also accused of well, general stupidity. You have been branded a deserter by a jury of your superiors, what say you to these allegations?”

FrokShi sighed and looked Elva in the eyes and with defiance they said, “Does it matter?”

Elva smirked, it was a smirk Mallobo had grown to despise, “No, because quite honestly honey, we’re only here for the evidence. You’ve just contributed to keeping your people under the rule of fear for another hundred years.”

The two had a staring contest for a small moment, “First the Skyro and now the Cugan, you all need to learn your place. Do it.”

FrokShi braced for the blow, putting both chained hands on the table and feet firmly on the ground while one of the creatures stood behind and the other stood directly in front. The one that stood in front of her held its burly hand out a red light glowed and FrokShi began to scream. Mallobo looked around; he saw that the sensors and monitoring systems wasn’t picking up any of what was happening. He watched as the burly creature put both hands on the side of FrokShi’s head. The Cugan continued to scream as the heat surged through its head, Mallobo wanted to turn away but couldn’t he faced the horror and listened to the flesh rip and tear as FrokShi’s head was separated from its body.

Elva stood smirking still with her arms crossed. She walked over to the wall of the prison and touched it with her entire palm. The white wall glowed a bright red and wrote Mallobo’s name in the wall with her finger. The same wall he was touching now. The large creatures put the corpse’s head into a box. Elva opened a portal with the wave of her hand and the three walked into all, all unnoticed by the palace’s security systems. The room returned to normal around Mallobo and he looked onto the headless body in anger.

‘Monsters,’ he managed to create a thought feeling sick to his stomach. ‘The Planetary Alliance have no way of defending themselves against these monsters. They think the war is over.’

Mallobo went to leave the room; he sat down and stared into space. His resolve was absolute; he would have to find a way to protect Deltor from The Messengers and their terrible regime. ‘Deltor could be next. We’re not ready.’

Amidst the alarms there was also surprise, shock, and fear that filled the palace staff, everyone had the same questions on their minds. ‘How could someone break into the pala
ce, kill a well guarded prisoner and leave without a trace? And why?’ Many people speculated that there was another Cugan to cover their tracks, other less educated individuals guessed suicide, but that was quickly dismissed. No one knew the truth but Mallobo, but he couldn’t bear to tell anyone because it would cause a panic. Mallobo couldn’t tell anyone because Elva said it would be to his advantage for him not to tell anyone. ‘Could there be a traitor among us?’

Mallobo recorded down everything he experienced and then he put it in computer format. He embedded the teeny tiny chip into his body. ‘Elva wanted me to see that, these Messengers are on a real power trip. Why haven’t they come for Deltor yet?’ Mallobo looked at himself in the mirror, he never thought that yellow was his color, but the lives of the palace soldiers was definitely something he wanted to celebrate.

On Deltor funerals were sad events, but they were also considered an occasion of celebration. A video complied of each soldier’s achievements were displayed. Family members spoke of their favorite memories of the fallen fighters and how proud of them they all were. Everyone was dressed in various shades of yellow. Yellow is a color of celebration and death on Deltor.

The warriors hated funerals, but even more they hated losing
