moment.

"From your actions today I would have to say that you are very brave," she said. Azin smiled at her but did not reply. They fell into silence again. It was not until they were almost to the entrance of their home that Shine stopped to talk to him once more.

"Turn into your wolf form and follow me," she whispered quietly, "I have something special I want to show you." Azin smiled and obediently did as she asked. He already loved the form of a mountain wolf anyway. He felt powerful and sure-footed while in that form. Shine headed east of the cave without making a sound. Azin followed suit as best he could. He still had much to learn of the abilities and ways of mountain wolves. Shine headed for the other side of the mountain, not bothering to check if he was still behind her.

"Where are you taking me," Azin called after her.

"Just wait, you'll see," Shine responded grinning. Continuing onwards they came to see a large valley stretching out before them surrounded by seven mountains. The valley was lusciously green and scattered with the ruins of an old city. The sight made him stop in his tracks.

"Hey come on we're not there yet," Shi urged him. They continued cutting across the mountain until they came to a sheer cliff running up the mountain side. There was no visible way of climbing it nor was there any other route to take.

"This is what you wanted to show me?" Azin asked confused.

"No this is the entrance. The door is magical; you can only see it if someone tells you it's there. But it is there."

"What are you talking?," He began but stopped in mid sentence as the rock wall suddenly disappeared revealing the entrance into a passageway. Shine bolted forward and took an immediate right. Azin left with no other choice followed her. He almost ran into her coming around the corner. Shine was staring into a large cavern off to their left. Azin could hear voices coming from inside. He got closer and saw the room was filled with dwarves.

One Dwarf was atop a pedestal speaking, "Our friends have been murdered by the wolves. I saw dozens of them dragging our brethren away when I went to check on them. We must sound a call to arms, hunt down their den, and destroy them all." A chorus of cheers went up. "By tomorrow night we will rid ourselves of these vermin." Another cheer.

Shine crept forward motioning him to follow. She looked as though she was oblivious to what they were talking about. Then he realized she was, she was a wolf, she could not understand their language. They twisted through several passages until they came to a hole barely large enough to fit a wolf. Crawling through it led them to a small cavern. Inside his breath was taken again, the room was completely made out of brilliant crystals. Their luster created an unusual light of many colors. Some kind of power seemed to exuberate from the room.

"The dwarves have not discovered this room yet, even though they are the ones who uncovered its entrance," Shine explained to him.

"It's beautiful," was all he could manage to say.

"I'm very grateful that you saved my father's life," Shine began, pausing for a few moments until with tears in her eyes she asked desperately, "You are going to stay with us right?"

Azin smiled to offer reassurance, "Yes, I'm going to stay until the day I die." He meant it to, though he feared that day would come sooner than he would like.
