Jade’s scream brought Alex to his feet, heart pounding. He reached her just as her eyes rolled up and she started to slide from the chair.

“Jade!” he cried, “Wha…what is it?” He caught her up in his arms and hurried over to the canteen’s couch and gently laid her down.

Ro and Morgan rushed over to them as Rachel came hurrying through the door.

“I heard a scream! What happened?” she asked as she ran over to the couch.

Alex was kneeling down, staring at his unconscious little sister. He was shaken and baffled.

“I don’t know! She was just sitting there - I think she was talking to Mom - when suddenly she sat up and said something, then she screamed Sparrow’s name and fell over,” Alex explained as he rapidly checked Jade over. He made sure she was breathing, and he gently rubbed her face and arms. She didn’t move.

“Ro, get some napkins and wet them,” he said.

Ro was way ahead of him and already had some ready and handed them over.

He placed one on her forehead, lifted up her chin and placed another on her neck. Still no movement. He immediately sent to his mother:

They were all in mind-speak broadcast mode by now.

  said Morgan.

They were already half-way to the lift, Alex carrying Jade, Ro running worriedly by his side.

  sent Maggie.

  she pleaded.

They exited the lift at the bottom of the ship and raced to the camp.
