He had to have her! If only he had some of his men out here now. He sat in his tent and thought about what he was going to do - how he was going to get her for his special collection.

She was apparently, altogether immune to his pain/pleasure esa. She either didn’t keep her shields tight or she didn’t have strong ones so he’d tried the pleasure one first, trying to draw her to him - he’d gotten a lot of women that way, and a few men - but it was as though she were an Elvwist! He’d gotten no response from her at all, not so much as a smile.

He’d verified further she was immune by trying the pain. She hadn’t even gotten an itch, like he got with the precog. Not that an itch would do him any good, and he knew he’d ruined any chances he might have had of getting her to agree to be his sleep buddy by not believing her when she said she was a flyer. She probably would have turned him down anyway. She seemed to already have one of those in that boy she took with her when she flew off.

He decided he shouldn’t show any particular interest in her to anybody. If she heard he was asking around about her, it might put her on guard too much and he knew this was going to have to be an …appropriation. She would thank him later, after she learned to appreciate him and all that he could do for her - and with her.

Maybe he should wait until after they’d decided how to handle the Dimmers. He considered doing this. No. He didn’t want to take any chances on her going somewhere else, his maybe losing track of her, having to waste time finding her again.

He settled back into his chair thinking furiously. He might have to “retire” after getting her, especially if someone spotted him, but that wouldn’t be a problem. His Healer was good at altering faces, and he had plenty of aliases. It wouldn’t interfere with his plans to get to the ships either.

Any one of his aliases would get him back outside, and as soon as he got enough of his men out, it would be easy to take over the camps and seize those ships. Then the world would operate on his terms.

He would keep his mountain chateau since no one knew it was there. Besides, the precog had reluctantly told him her vision. She had actually Seen that this venture was the one that put him on top. He knew her vision was correct because he had scanned her to be sure. She had even mentioned “a special collection”. That had to be a reference to the flyer.

So he knew that a way would be found for him to get her soon. He grew excited when he thought of her. He ran the sight of her taking flight through his mind again. He had known immediately that she was meant for him, and him alone. He day-dreamed of all the things he would do with her once he got her…tamed.

He would “collect” her first, then he could concentrate on this final step leading to the world being run his way.
