Chuckles kept growling and tugging which was enough to scare the living daylights out of Scar. Charlie let Scar’s head up to breathe as the police car screeched to a halt outside the glasshouse closely followed by his mother’s familiar blue Astra.
“ Last time you mess with Charlie and the amazing Chuckles!” he exclaimed triumphantly.
The police quickly raced over and took hold of Scar. Charlie’s mum and Tom rushed to Mr Bentwhistle’s and Charlie’s aid as Chester pushed a hopping Dave from out of the glasshouse with Fiffi nipping at Dave’s heels like a terrier.
Everyone turned to laugh at the scene of Chester, Fiffi and a helpless hopping Dave. The police removed both crooks from the scene.
Fiffi and Chuckles ran to each other and nuzzled.
“ Well done Charlie, Chester and Chuckles you were wonderful. You were too Fiffi,” praised Mr Bentwhistle lifting his beloved poodle from off the ground.
“ Mr Bentwhistle are you all right?” Charlie’s mum asked, worried about his condition, noticing the large bump on his head.
Charlie answered for him, “ Mr Bentwhistle’s amazing mum. He's a karate expert. Used to be in the S.A.S. He planned the entire rescue. Well done to you Mr B!”
“ Well thank you Mr Bentwhistle,” said Tom. “ We were so worried for the boys.”
“ Oh they’re likely lads all right. Fine young gentleman. And guess what we’re doing tomorrow?”
“What,” replied Tom.
“ I’m taking Charlie, Chester, Chuckles and Fiffi out to lunch to celebrate.”
“ Yeah! Way to go!” called Chester.
“ Fantastic Mr B” cheered Charlie. “ Did you hear that Chuckles?”
But Chuckles hadn’t heard. He was far too interested in Fiffi to care about lunch. Chuckles had other thoughts on his mind.
