“It’s on the corner of LaBelle and 27th st.”
“Look, I’ll tell you what. Come on let’s get in my car. I’ll take you over there so we can see for ourselves. Is that ok with you?”
On the way over she took the pictures out of her purse and held them in her hand.
“Well, Miss Parsons, here we are.”
“This can’t be the place. There’s nothing but a gazebo, some benches and shade trees. Look at these pictures. That’s the hotel she bought”
“That’s why I’m telling you it’s impossible. That building was torn down twelve years ago.”
“If that’s so, how can her car be sitting in front of the hotel in this picture, when she didn’t live in this state twelve years ago?”
“How can you be sure it’s her car?”
“Check the license plate on it.”
Jennifer went to sit at one of the benches while he went back to his car to run the number.
“You’re right Miss Parsons; it’s registered to Jayna Parsons.”
“Now, look at this picture of the house across the street. You’ll see my sister’s car in it as well.”
“So?”
“Look across the street. The house is gone, but my sister’s car is still there. My sister said a man named Gary Sellick lives in that house.”
“Gary Sellick died trying to keep that building from being torn down. When they started demolition he ran inside before anyone could stop him and was crushed when the bandstand fell over on him. Beside you is a plaque dedicated to him by the historical society.”

“Jayna...! Jayna…! Jayna, wake up! We’ve overslept. We’ll never get done if you don’t get moving.”
“OK. OK. I’m up. Boy! I was having a weird dream.”
“Oh, yeah what was it Jayna?”
“Most things around me were different, and yet some weren’t. It was like it was a different time.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, in my dream I bought an old hotel, and that’s where it started getting real dicey,”
“You can tell me more as we work, because they’ll be here by noon.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll make it. So who’s coming again? I forget.”
“The Artie Shaw Band. Is the ballroom ready?”
“Oh yeah, we’ll make it in time.”
“Jayna Parsons, you are wonderful. I love you.”
“I love you, too, Gary Sellick.”
One of these was a dream…Wasn’t it??
