prayerfully outside not knowing what was happening to Zechariah in the Temple. I continued to blast out the Almighty’s instructions word for word as they were given to me. I continued dogmatically, “Many of the people of Israel will return back to the Lord because of him. He will go on before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah. He will turn the hearts of the fathers towards their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous. He will make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” Then Zechariah responded and asked me, “How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.” I answered him firmly, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of the Lord God. I have been divinely sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. From now on you will be silent and unable to speak until the day that these things come to pass. Because you did not believe the irrevocable words that I have spoken unto you which will surely come to pass at their proper time.”

I have often wondered what distinguishes one man on the earth from another man who walks upon the same earth. They both breathe in the same air yet they understand differently. Why is it that one man will embrace the word of the Lord and another man will fail to believe the exact same word? Zechariah was not like his father Abraham who was the example and mentor of faith for all the children of Israel. God had spoken to Abraham on many different occasions and had made countless promises to him. Yet Abraham did not faultier or staggered at a single promise. Yet I speak a single simple word authenticated by the Almighty to Zechariah and he fails to embrace it as the truth. In my view unbelief is the worst disease known to mankind. If only men would just simply believe.

Meanwhile, the people that were waiting for Zechariah were wondering why he was taking so long. Little did they know that I had him dumb struck by the word of the Lord. When Zechariah finally came out he could not speak to them as I had struck him on the mouth and he had become mute. I wasn’t going to give him the privilege of doubting and staggering at God Almighty’s holy word. I wasn’t going to allow his steep traditions to bring the word of the Lord to nought thereby making it ineffective. I wasn’t going to give him the opportunity of killing the word of the Lord because of doubt and unbelief in his heart. So mute became the short-term destiny for Zechariah while the word of the Lord remained in tact, pregnant to give birth to the desires of God Almighty.

I left Zechariah before the congregation making wild jesters with his frail old hands. The people thought that he was out of his mind but I knew differently. His heart was pregnant with the desires of God Almighty and fulfilment was inevitable. I returned to the highest heavens and lay prostrated before the throne of God, my wings covering my face as was the protocol. I was eagerly awaiting further instruction from the Almighty. For the first time in thousands of years, I was anxious and expectant. I felt alive for the first time in a long time. God Almighty was preparing for something spectacular and I wanted to have a piece of the action. I was on high alert.

  Visiting Mary. #20

I, Gabriel awoke to the sound of my name being called by the Lord God. I arose speedily and stood crisply upon my feet at attention. I quickly fanned and flinched my feathers to straighten and align them. The Almighty thundered out instructions fast and furiously once again. I had to keep my wits about me to remember all the details. I had never seen him so excited and expectant. I could detect the enthusiasm once again in the tone of his voice. I had slept for almost six months according to an earthly calendar, yet in heaven it seemed like just a moment. I was rejuvenated after my brief rest. My body was not used to the physical demands placed upon it while visiting the earth. I was ready for more supernatural adventure and earthly action. I left the throne room faster than the speed of light and quicker than the spontaneous thought of man. I was back on the earth in an instant, faster than the twinkling of an eye. This time my mission was in the small town of Nazareth in Israel.

I appeared before a young woman named Mary. She was a virgin girl who was engaged. She had been promised in marriage to a local carpenter by the name of Joseph. I stood in the middle of her room, my head almost touched her ceiling and my feathery golden wings touched the opposite sides of the wall in her room. Her spiritual eyes were opened and as she saw my brightness of being, she became unnaturally fearful. I seem to have that negative affect on humans when I suddenly appear before them. They always become fearful and go into a state of shock and panic. Then I always have to try and calm them down by simply saying in a soft and gentle voice, “Fear not.”

With Mary it was no different. She was greatly troubled at my words and wondered what kind of greeting I had brought to her when I announced, “Greetings, you who are highly favoured of the Lord. God Almighty is with you.” I quickly had to calm her down again by saying, “fear not, Mary.” I paused briefly and then I continued prophetically, “You have found immeasurable favour with God.” My radiant appearance had practically hypnotised her. She was astonished and startled by my unexpected visit. It was usually the norm for the Lord God to use his holy prophets to proclaim his holy word. Yet here I was the messenger of heaven in this beautiful young woman’s room announcing on the earth the divine purposes of heaven. I doubt if any prophet would have agreed to declare such mystical and phenomenal news. They would have faltered at a mission as complicated and with a task of this magnitude. Not even the prophets’ minds would have conceived the magnitude of the incarnation of God Almighty. Mankind still struggles to comprehend it to this very day. So it was delegated to me and I held nothing back. I declared once again just as it had been given to me by the Almighty. Not only did I announce word for word but I also mimicked the Almighty’s exact tone of voice and his exact expressions and jesters.

I paused for a moment then continued with my quest, “Mary, you will be with child and you will give birth to a son. You are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the son of the Most High God. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. His kingdom is eternal and will know no end.” Mary had calmed down slightly and asked me a question out of curiosity, “how can this be as I am a virgin and I have not been with a man.” I knew that she had been taught about the “birds” and the “bees” so to explain to her that she wasn’t going to get pregnant that way was going to be a challenge for me. I took a deep breath and then I explained, “The Holy Spirit as the breath of God will come upon you, and the power of the Most High God will shade around you by overshadowing you, so that the holy one born to you will be called the Son of God.”

God Almighty was once again going to create a masterpiece. He was once again going to shade around himself. He was once again going to spin a unique creature upon his fingertips. This time he wasn’t going to use softened clay to make an idol of himself but he was going to shade around the womb of a young virgin girl. He was going to impregnate her with the very essence of who he was. God was going to become flesh and dwell among his people. God was about to breathe out and speak his final word. His final word would became flesh and dwell in the hearts of his people. In the past God had spoken to their fathers by the prophets, but now he was going to speak to them by his only begotten Son. The son was destined to be the radiance of the Fathers Glory and the exact replica of his being. Like the first Adam, the Christ was clothed with the light and glowing glory of the Father in heaven. Men would see the Glory of the only begotten Son and it would be full of grace and truth. Jesus would later give men the very same glory that the Father had given him.

The Lord Almighty had pronounced that a virgin would conceive and indeed a virgin was going to conceive. The “bird” and the “bee” theory flew out of the window. We angels knew that God would have to one day become a man like Adam in order to save man from his sin. We angelic hosts often debated as to how the Almighty was going to reproduce himself as a man. As usual we were all wrong. I had no idea that he was going to shade around the womb of a young virgin and impregnate her with his eternal breath of self existence. O
nce again God breathed the breath of live as the Holy Spirit came upon her. He once again shaded around himself to reproduce an exact replica of himself. But this time it was in the womb of a young woman. She had been impregnated directly by the Almighty himself and therefore carried the royal heir of heaven in her womb. God Almighty was alive, cocooned and growing on the inside of her. The Son of God was now also going to become the Son of man.

Mary needed to be given a sign that she was a partaker in the workmanship and craftsmanship of Almighty God. God was mysteriously weaving himself together upon the fingertips of Mary’s womb. She had been honoured above all other woman. I knew by the way that she answered me that she was a dynamic woman of great faith. I hadn’t seen such great faith since Abraham took a journey up a lonely mountaintop. Her answer left me breathless. Mary answered after inhaling what the Lord God had exhaled, “Let it be done unto me according to your word for I know that nothing is impossible with
