Read Elindo the Alien Ghost Page 3

  Chapter III Alien Community Service

  There were a few alien ghosts in the Alien Division Office but there were no queues and there were desks and chairs for everyone to sit on while their case was being dealt with. Elindo was fascinated by the different aliens he saw; some looked similar to him, some looked very different but there were none that he recognized from Esplanar.

  Ruxted needed to continue further into the Amazon rainforest to find the tribespeople and he had said goodbye to Elindo at the entrance. Elindo was very grateful for Ruxted’s help and they had promised to find each other and say goodbye properly before one or both of them passed through to The Other Side.

  ‘Ok, Elindomith Nulitante Vilne…’ There was an alien sat at the desk and she had antennae that shivered in the air. Elindomith was Elindo’s full alien name. He was happy that she knew his full name without him having to tell her – it made her seem efficient.

  ‘We have been in contact with your Other Side representatives from Esplanar as well as the Esplanar Ghost Ambassador and there are a few things that need to happen before you can be handed over to the Esplanar chaperones who will take you to The Other Side.’

  Elindo felt relieved that those from his home planet had been contacted and knew he was on Earth.

  She looked at her computer screen calmly, she seemed to be checking details with a serious expression.

  ‘Please, call me Elindo.’

  ‘Ok Elindo; the debris of your crashed space ship is approximately two miles south-west of this office. Also, your physical alien body, the one you vacated when you became a ghost, is still here. We can’t have those hanging around in case any humans come across them…’ She turned to look at him halfway through her sentence ‘… we can’t have any humans finding proof of alien existence.’

  She looked back at her computer, this time reading something in detail again.

  ‘It is possible in some circumstances to have the Spaceship Police clean up crashed ships and remove alien bodies but… I see you were part of a crew in 2008 who took part in abducting some humans…’

  Elindo was surprised;

  ‘Yes, we did abduct some humans, just in order to do some one time experiments on them, to take some DNA samples back to the lab in Esplanar but we only abducted them for a few hours during their sleep time for this and then returned them. No one was seriously harmed…’

  ‘I know this practice is very common for Aliens but it becomes problematic when they die on Earth and need to pass over to The Other Side, you see; The Other Side have very strict rules about souls or spirits settling debts against humans on Earth. Some of the humans that were abducted remembered a little bit about it and it caused them to become very scared.’

  Elindo sat in silence and thought for a few seconds. He didn’t know that he had caused the humans harm, they weren’t supposed to remember the abduction when they woke in the morning.

  She continued;

  ‘So what this means Elindo is that you can’t leave until the debris of your space ship and body have been cleaned up and you definitely can’t leave until you have repaid your debt to some of the humans you abducted.'

  Elindo didn’t know how to repay the debt to the humans. He couldn’t un-abduct them.

  ‘How do I repay this? Apart from when I have been on the ship with the crew, I’ve never interacted with humans.’

  ‘The quickest way to do this is to transfer some of your telepathic powers into a human child. It has been done many times before by aliens in your position and it is fairly quick.’

  ‘Which human child?’

  ‘That is up to you decide, but in order to please the committee who are in charge of releasing you to the Esplanar representatives who will take you to The Other Side – you must show that you have thought carefully about the child you choose – one who is going to use their powers to benefit humanity in some way.’

  Elindo was silent for a while.

  ‘How do I find a child like that?’

  ‘That is your responsibility Elindo. Good luck.’

  Elindo collected his documents and left the office.

  He stood still outside listening to the birds of the forest. How was he going to find a child to give his powers to?
