  This voice, I recognized it—it belonged to Sydney, one of my best friends. A flush of joy and relief washed over me; the feeling powerful enough to lighten the maddening sensation of the uncertainty over me.

  “Is that you, Sydney?” I asked, a smile forming on my face. “How did you find me?”

  “I saw your com link signal and followed it here,” he replied, banging on the top of the capsule with something hard. “Don’t worry—I will get you of there soon.”

  “Take your time,” I joked, my heart finally slowing down. “It’s not like I have anywhere else to go.”

  In one instant tweak, my neck popped, my eyes feeling drowsy and weak. Before I knew what was happening, I felt a loss in strength, my mind warping with dizziness and confusion. I tried hard to fight against the feeling, hoping to stay awake, but I lost the battle, and fell into a deep, hard sleep.

  This was just a just a short read to explain some events from the End Boss Series. The writing style may be a little different from what you usually read, but rest assured, there is a perfectly good reason for that, which you will find as you start through the series.
