Jackson slid the black goggles over his eyes and gently tapped a button on the frame above the left lens and nodded. “We successfully injected the virus into their orbital communication relays while you were talking to the Admiral. It should begin propagating itself into all their critical systems very shortly.”
“Good, lets provide them with a little distraction while we wait.” Jasper activated the main holographic display and a three dimensional representation of the space around them appeared above their heads. He twirled the gas giant around with a flick of the wrist till he found what he was looking for. “What’s this Alice?” he asked nonchalantly pointing at a complex mass of buildings sprawled across one of the larger moons that orbited it.
“Zenon-5. It houses their principle refinery complex, used to process the chemicals their harvesters extract from the gas giant.”
“Destroy it.”
“The refinery?”
“No, the whole fragging rock and everything on it.” he snapped back.
“Aye, sir, locking on the Armageddon Array, we’ll having a firing solution in thirty seconds.”
“Strike fear into the heart of your enemies, then offer them salvation.” Angelica whispered under her breath.
Jasper smiled. “Not this time. Fire!”
The three huge crystalline capacitors, beneath the ship, discharged their deadly payload of raw energy into the arrays reflector dish. Focusing it into a single, devastating beam, of pure violet fury that tore the moon apart, vaporizing the refinery and all within it.
