"Jörvi!" I exclaimed.
"Judith." He suddenly took me into a tight embrace.
I hugged him so tight.I felt like there was no one else there even though we were in the middle of a bank.
"Jörvi,I thought I'd never see you again."I cried with tears in my eyes.
I really did think I'd never see him again he was the love of my life, who I had lost but he obviously wanted me back.I've loved him from the first day we met in ninth grade. He had bumped int me in the hallway but from there on it was like we were attached by the hip.We did everything together.Looking into those gorgeous brown eyes of his I thought it was a dream.
"Could we go somewhere and talk?"I asked so existed by his presence.
"Sure,What about Restaurant Reykjavík." he asked.
I really was hungry I hadn't eaten in maybe eleven hours.I guess I could have used a bite to eat. Especially with Jörvi.I loved how he was so good to me.He courted me and took me out on nice dates.I never met a decent guy I could live with forever but I did have my family. I couldn't ruin this moment by looking so disgusting right now.I had no make up on if front of him, oh,my god. My shoes had holes and my pants were ripped. But through all that he diddn't seem to care at all. He only seemed focused on seeing me again.
"Are you sure you want me to go there looking like this?"I asked walking with him out of the bank.
"I wouldn't have it any other way."He said dreamily
"By the way, what are you doing here in Reykjavík?"I asked.I was wondering his family lives in Hafnarfjordur and so does he so what was he doing here. was he on vacation was he looking for me? I don't know but I do want to.
"My parents spit and my mother lives here."He said sadly. I remember his parents being bored with each other. When we were out at banquets or galas they never seemed interested in each other. They were awfully young. I guess they had him very early. I understand why they had to split. I could see that so could he.
"My parents split too."I said."My dad was cheating and my mom gave him everything and we've been living on the streets ever since."
We stopped he turned and looked at me. He had pity in his eyes. It was what I didn't want to see. He felt sorry for me.
"Hey, if you ever need any mon-"I cut him off this is not what I was hoping to happen.
"Jörvi, I don't need your money my dad gave me some." He exhaled gratefully.
"But how long were you living on the..."He emphasized "Street!"
"Two years." I said embarrassed. "I've got a baby brother now."
He grabbed my hand and guided me over to a street bench. He looked at me like I was treasure and he had finally found it. I also knew he felt my pain. His parents were now split. And now I felt like I could sit here forever.
"Judith,I love you he said to me.
"I love you too." I said longingly.I leaned in and her leaned in and we kissed.as soon as our lips toched I felt an electric currant through my body.He really seemed to be missing this. We came appart he wrapped his arm around my shoulder and we just sat.I couldn't believe that I was back with him in his arms. And then I saw her.
It was Roxanna she was walking down the street.
She took one look at Jörvi and turned and walked in the other direction.
"I just saw Roxanna she jus-" he shut me up with a kiss. I didn't complain I never wanted to see that little home wrecker again. He pulled away and kissed me on the four head.
"So, are we still going to the restaurant or are we going to stay here?" I asked.
He looked at me flirtatiously. "Hmm. Let me choose between making out with you on a park bench or, going to a restaurant." He said. "Oh maybe we'll go to the restaurant ..." He leaned in once more and I gave him a small peck. I had to help Libby and I was not going to let any boy stop me. I got up. "I need to be somewhere Jörvi."I said apologetically. "My sister needs me."
I started to run. I heard him in the distance calling me, but I had to go.
I couldn't let her die. Called for a taxi.
I waited ten minutes for a taxi. By then Jörvi had caught up to me. His slender build could fool you in an instant.
"Judy don't leave without talking to me." He pleaded.
The taxi arrived.I opened the door and climbed inside. But so did Jörvi.
"Uhh, do you ever give up?"I asked frustratedly.
The cab driver interrupted us.
"Where to miss?"he asked.
"I need to go to the plague research center." I told him urgently.
"Plague research center? what for?"He asked curiously.
"My sister needs the cure." I said cautiously . After all the plague was a touchy subject.
" Wait since when?" he asked frantically.
"Since two days ago." I said sadly
I spilled the beans to what had happened. The whole time he looked at me never interrupting me. It really helped to let everything out. I really don't understand why I was so angry at myself before.I never talked to anyone about it not even my dad. My father and I diddn't really converse while we were at his giant castle. It was like a huge weight was lifted off me, and It was all because he asked.I never saw him as the deep type of person. He was always the fun loving sports guy.I guess a lot can change in two years.
The taxi driver pulled over to the curb. I looked out the window past Jörvi. I saw the modern architecture of the plague research center. I was finally here to help her when I noticed it. I felt an itching sensation. I looked down at my skin there were red rimed purple spots that looked like bruises. I apparently I wasn't the only one who notice it. Jörvi was staring at me with wide eyes. I screamed. Then spots clouded my vision. That's when everything went black.
