to salvation. Many thought that we are saved to be rich, occupying position in the church and gather wealth and to become famous on earth. The purpose of our salvation is to be made ready for heaven at any time the master will knock. We should daily prepare ourselves for the Lord’s return and make sure we lay hold on eternal life. But many today are laying hold on wealth and fashion, and all allurement of the world. Many are in the church that doesn’t even know the meaning of salvation, let alone of experiencing it. The fruit is not in them.
The call of God to the ministers is to bring forth fruit worthy of the Master. The fruit of the Spirit includes the fruit of longing for the Lord returns and fruit of praying for their members until Christ be formed in them. All our tithe, offering and sacrifices are all useless without bearing fruit fit for the Lord. Do you know that the New Testament never over-emphasizes tithe, offering, sacrifices as it does the fruit of righteousness, holiness, watchfulness, mercy, love and faith. Why, because the Old Testament leaders and followers thought that what the Lord desired most was their sacrifices and offering until the Lord rejected it from them and demanded for the real fruit that endure unto everlasting life. It is a pity today that pastors are on the pulpits and without knowing the reason why they are there. Some think that they are called to ministry for fund raising and growing wealth and large estate. Meanwhile the real temple of God has not been built; the spiritual house that he delighted in has been turned to bread.
When you see some churches afar off, you will think that they are real fruit unto God until one draw close to them and examine them closely, and then you will discover that, they are just leaves without any fruit.
The fruit of the Pharisees were two fold child of hell than themselves, the fruit of false prophets are like them, comforting their members in sin and iniquities, like the false prophets of old that led Israelites into captivity, death and famine by their lying. The fruit of true prophet like John the Baptist that demanded from the people to bring forth fruit of repentance and not to trust in false hope of Abraham covenant. He rebukes their sinful lifestyle and led them to God. The Lord is looking for the fruit that will glorify His name and that will be with Him eternally. What fruit are you? What kind of fruit are you bearing in the church unto God? Let us by the power of the Holy Spirit bring forth fruit unto God: the fruit of righteousness, faith, justice, love and mercy. Remember, when you deal with sin in your life, it dies, but when you pamper it, it multiply. But when you rebuke sin and expose it, it ceases. The fruit of sin will enter into hell.
The living God has endowed us just as He said to the “Israelites” What could have been done to My vineyard, that I have not done in it? The Living God has endowed us with all Spiritual gifts and power. We need to bring forth fruit unto Him. He laid down His precious life for us and shed His blood and became a fountain through which we can constantly wash our souls, destroy the work of devil and its power. But are we bringing forth fruit unto Him or to ourselves? What could have been done to My vineyard, that I have not done to it (Isaiah 5:4). It was not that there were not people in the Land of Israel but there was no one free from sin and they were not seeking the Lord in Spirit and in truth. Righteousness has been substituted for unrighteousness, injustice, greediness, worldliness, adultery, stealing, and idolatry and so on. They were in the church but they were not saved. All their offering, tithe, and their services, worship and activities were to themselves, the Lord didn’t accept them (Isaiah 1:11-15). They took the call, grace and power of God for granted.
The situation in our churches today, is it different? We are in the church but not in the presence of God. Does God recognize our sacrifices, offering, tithes and the big cathedral we are building for Him? The richest church among the seven churches in the second and third book of Revelation was so rich that she chased the Lord to the back door and enthroned the worship of mammon on the pulpit. The Lord they professed they were serving was knocking at the door of the entrance of their church and their heart that have been overcharged with the wealth and the love of this presence world. These things are good, but God requires our total obedience to Him before all these things can be accepted.
The greatest fruit we can bear to God is the gift of our obedience to His Word. Holiness is the only fruit that God requires from us. It is only those that possess the fruit that are truly representing Him here on earth and will reign with Him eternally. Nothing else pleases Him once that one is removed.
