“What is the third heaven?” Logan asked father Andrew, after he had finished confessing his misdeeds before the trip to see Saint Jude.
“That's just the Hebrew concept of Heaven. The first Heaven is the heaven of the birds and insects. The second is the heaven of the stars and planets. The third heaven is the one where God lives. Why do you ask?”
“We went there with Saint John. Only it reminded me of the Mass. It was different though, because there were Angels everywhere, and stuff-- by the way, I really like flying with my Guardian Angel.”
“I expect everyone does.” Fr. Andrew seemed in a hurry to dismiss him. “Is there anything else?”
“No. Just could you pray for our sqwap? It turns out he's a she and she's going to have babies.”
“Wonderful. So they're not extinct after all!” This didn't seem to surprise him, though. “I'll put in an intention for the safe delivery of many new sqwaps at my next Mass.”

“Please, Daddy!” Molly tried to drag her father back from the van. “We can't just leave hew!”
“We are not going to miss Mass as a family in order to stare at that creature when nothing has changed at all for a week.” This was true. The sqwap still seemed nervous-- clinging to Brody and in and out of the nest a hundred times per day.
