Read Hand to Bone Page 3

  Day 27

Touched the eyes touched the hand touched the other hand touched the hair touched the head the chest legs arms touched all over to feel the whole body all the skin on the entire body the skin cold in places and the skin warm in places touched the body. The arm is here and down to the side of the body it will be there tomorrow and the next day and the next the hand extends to touch the other arm which will also remain there for a long time. The body this body that body all are bodies with legs that walk and arms that sway and mouths that talk all are bodies moving in space from this place to that place and then to another all using eyes to look and then think about looking all using arms and hands to touch things and other bodies. The head hurts. Placed the hand on the head to feel this hurt to stop this hurt but could not stop the feeling the hand could not stop the feeling in the head why can the hand not stop this feeling. Walked outside. Mailbox. Bicycle. Child. Cat. Cat. Child. All around this place are children and animals and boxes for mail and all around are other things also things like streets and lines in streets and lines in sidewalks where people move feet to walk and people cross over those lines by either stepping on or around them on or around these lines which the feet do or do not touch.

  Day 28

Opened the pages of this book the one which one has wanted to open for some time to read to draw open this book and look at lines in print on the page one line and then down to the next line and then down to the next line eyes follow letters compressed together to make words and then the words make sentences and then a period puts a stop to the sentence. This book feels smooth and flat in the hand it feels smooth on the outside in the hand and rough the edge of this book feels rough and the cover of this book is blue and white and green. The book is heavy. The book feels heavy in the hands. Looked inside at the letters one by one at the letters from start until finish at each letter in black print on the white page. Thought about these letters and how they must make words and how one can read those words and then think about those words to make some sort of meaning what meaning though what could the words mean thought about this for a long time and held the book in the hand at the same time and looked at the book also at the same time. Thirsty so thirsty dry in the mouth and in the throat dry all over the body dryness that water will perhaps relieve water down the throat and into the body to make this dry feeling this feeling of white bones all over the feeling of dry white bones all over water will help this feeling go away.

  Day 29

Rain cold rain water cold rain water cold on the body all over the body rain water falling down and hitting down onto the body hard in drops hard on the skin the skin hurts from the water and the grey and the wind especially the wind which is blowing hard and against the body all the time. Wind a harsh wind a harsh harsh wind trees move sway trees leaves green sway moves sways back and forth in front of the eyes as the eyes watch the movement back and forth of these trees and the scraps of paper that move from one side of vision to the other and are followed during this movement with eyes eyes that also see the face in mirrors and hand and arm and other arms and other hands and grey coats and mouths that laugh and mouths that talk eyes see a man walking and talking to another man and a woman in a blue skirt and a woman the same woman perhaps in a red shirt and a woman who has brown hair which hangs down lightly down the back the eyes see this and also see objects all around which are waiting to be touched objects lamps and pictures and stamps and letters and papers and more papers and pages of books that have not yet been seen by any eyes books which have not yet been opened books and more papers again everywhere pieces of paper eyes rest on pieces of paper white paper and eyes see again faces faces faces faces that smile and faces that do not smile and faces on which appear other eyes which are closed at times and at other times are not closed.

Said a word to this man. Said another word to this man. The man looked and then said a word back the man opened his mouth and words came out of that mouth and then other mouths moved and other words came out of those mouths so many words so many mouths so many sounds voices sounds out of these mouths and then this hand touches this head and this hand then touches this jacket and this hand goes inside the pocket of the jacket and disappears there one can no longer see the hand one can no longer see arm face mouth one can no longer see voice sound voice yellow red green no longer see red green and the hand has disappeared and the mouth has stopped moving one can no longer hear words hear color hear bodies moving faces moving mouths moving one cannot hear voice or words that might perhaps come from the mouths of those people who are standing still on the street.
