In the background, helicopters buzzed through the night sky. Spotlights flashed around from above as the helicopters hovered over the other side of the plaza. Shock waves of air blew over the remaining tables and chairs. Customers darted away as they were hurried along by the swirling wind that billowed their hair and clothes.
Ropes dropped out of the helicopters, and black camouflaged soldiers rappelled down them. On the ground, they pulled out their rifles and formed a circle to create room for the rest of the squad members to follow. Finally, an older man with some stars on his uniform slid down the rope. Two of the soldiers turned a table upright and started dumping cases on top and flipping them open. The electronics inside the cases sparked to life when the connection to the network was made. The older man, the General, glared at Bolt and Accel, who were still busy fighting.
“Get those birds back in the sky and give me some eyes. Stream the images through to this command point,” the General shouted to his Commander, who relayed the orders through his headset.
“Set up a perimeter, contain, and do not engage. I need these men unharmed,” the General added.
The Commander shouted the orders to the squad. The thirty squad members ran to force the watching civilians back and created a protective circle around Accel and Bolt.
