Read If I Could Paint Your Picture Page 4

loved and who loved her back. She never knew strangers, only friends.

Do not weep for her, for when we feel the ocean spray upon our faces, she is there swimming beside us.

When the sun shines, or the rain falls, or the moon smiles down from the Celeste, she is there.

Do not weep for her, for when you reach out to touch another's heart, she is there.

When you love she loves with you and when you smile she smiles with you.

So do not weep for her, for she has not gone, she lives forever in our memories and our hearts.

  Funny

The air is full of laughter,

  Of the children sitting there,

As the funny man walks in

And falls over something that's not there.

The big red nose and floppy ears,

Which ring to the roar of the children's cheers.

As the trumpet he plays blows up in his face,

But he smiles his big white smile.

He starts to give chase, of the ringmaster there,

  It's all in the show

  But the children don't know,

And the roar even louder when he falls over twice,

And sits there holding his nose.

The tears start flowing from his big brown eyes

As he tries to stand up

But falls back and lies there,

  Still holding his nose,

For his legs are too short.

The roar of the laughter is beginning to die,

As the children see the tears from his eye,

He looks around him pleading for help

From the little faces of different races.

And quietness descends on the sawdust arena,

Then a sob is heard and then another,

Now it's not the roar of the children's laughter,

But the sound of a million little hearts as one voice pleads for the help,

  Of the sad little clown.

  1974

A land alone serenely at rest.

  Free from the East.

  Free from the West.

A sea of its own, so clear, so deep.

  An afternoon sun, inducing sleep.

A ring of mountains protecting all.

Never again will this land fall.

  Happy sounds rule the days.

And all night the music plays.

Songs of a people as bright as their sun.

Full of life all as one.

A land that now has peace.

  A world unique, that’s Greece.

  Night Vision

In the darkest hours of the blackest night.

When thoughts are heavy in sorrow.

Listen awhile to a world live known,

To the sounds that herald tomorrow.

At first you'll not understand the beat.

Maybe cringe from the devil of fear.

But before the night has wilted to dawn.

You'll embrace the truth at your feet.

This mystery is known only to some.

As over the world they wander.

And if the darkness returns again.

Turn your thoughts to me over yonder.

Remember I ride on a steed of light.

Your thoughts with mine at the source.

Forever the vision of my ride through the night.

A virgin astride a fiery white horse.
