Chapter 4
You see this is my world where the unbelievable and astonishing happens. It's a world that parallel's Planet earths'. Many have dreamt and desired to enter, but it has eluded them. A chosen few have found their way into my world and have been transformed by their experiences. It's a wonderful world that many have called "Magic". Sally Wentworth was one of the chosen few and once the danger was over the door that had been formerly opened by Sally’s pain and desperation had slowly closed and the link created between the past and the future was broken.
A few years later Sally found another job, she had completed her biography of Pierre de Prince. It included his murder and murderers. She also gave an update on Pierre’s inventions, including the pictures of the crystal ball machine that Ambrose had sent via email. The book had received favorable reviews and Sally had become famous overnight. The good thing about the reviews was that it finally reached Ambrose where he resided in France. After the death of his cousin he had taken over the wine business and his rare bookstores. The year 2009 was a blank slate for him. During that year he had been involved in an accident that had erased his memory. Reading the book and seeing his name in the book, he knew he had to find out what had happened. He took the earliest flight and flew to Washington D.C. He located Sally at the museum she was working. The Smithsonian institute had apologized for the misunderstanding but Sally had already been offered a better position with the Spy Museum. They had offered her better pay and given her a freer hand in making decisions concerning the museum. Ambrose walked in and asked for Sally. The receptionist directed him to Sally’s secretary. Entering the secretary’s office, he was informed that Sally was on her way and would be in shortly. He sat down on the visitor’s chair and waited. Shortly after Sally walked in. Dressed in a yellow Calvin Klein suit with matching pumps she walked through the door swinging her brown suitcase. “Morning Mabel how are you doing this morning?” Sally asked her secretary.
“I am good Sally, you have a visitor, Ambrose de Prince,” Mabel read from the card that Ambrose had filled.
Sally paused from leafing through the mail on Mabel’s table and slowly turned around, her eyes widened as they came in contact with the most handsome man she had ever seen. Ambrose also slowly stood up as his eyes met Sally’s; together they both appraised each other. Mabel coughed slightly behind Sally, breaking the moment, she said, “Sally I will like to introduce you to Mr. Ambrose de Prince.”
Sally walked forward with her arm outstretched. Ambrose in French style took the hand offered and brought it up to his lips. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” He said.
“The pleasure is also mine,” Sally answered, her cheeks going a slight pink, “I have always wondered what happened to you. Please come into my office,” Sally offered as she opened the door and walked into her office. Ambrose followed behind. That was the beginning of a relationship that culminated in a marriage that spanned many years right into old age.
