Several weeks later, Frank and Jimmy are having a luncheon at the Courtyard restaurant in Harrogate to talk about the rescue.
I guess it was about a week later, after you did your rescue that I was in the States talking with some people at the Pentagon.”
“You’re getting up in the world Frank, the Pentagon is now talking to us. I bet that makes you happy.”
“Yes, after that rescue you and Ralph did, it opened a lot of doors.
Anyway, I was summoned by Madam President to her oval office and she wanted to know how she could meet you.”
“Mr. James, I am told his name is Jimmy West.”
“That’s right,” replied Frank
“I understand from the Lt Colonel that at one time he was in the army, before he was run out for hitting a captain.”
“That is also correct,” replies Frank.
“I also understand he lives in a villa in Mallorca.”
“Yes, you are right, Madam President.”
“And from what I understand, he may be marrying an American Girl.”
“Yes,” replies Frank, “her name is Phyllis. She is a pretty nice girl.”
“Madam President, if you know all these details about Jimmy, why don’t you just go to Mallorca and visit with him.”
“I can’t be seen going to him it wouldn’t play good in the press.”
I want him to come here so I can thank him secretly, but he won’t do it, because of the Air Rescue's policy is rescuers don’t visit with rescued.”
“I apologize Madam President, but I won’t set up that meeting.”
“I am not very happy about that Mr. James.”
“Again, I apologize Madam President, but that’s Air Rescue policy.”
“Can you tell me why this policy is in effect?”
I had to stop for a minute and choose my words.
“You want the truth?”
Yes, Mr. James, “The truth.”
“It’s because over half the women Jimmy has rescued, has fallen in love with him and he has had an affair with them.”
Madam President looked a little embarrassed after I said it.
“Well Mr. James that is not the answer I expected,” she replied.
“I must say, you sure believe in telling the truth.”
“So, we implemented the policy.”
“Thank you Mr. James.”
“Madam President.”
Jimmy is sitting there laughing.
“Thanks Frank, I needed that.”
Jimmy continues telling his story again.
Once Madam President left the ship, Ralph and I enjoyed a little more freedom of movement about the ship.
It was during this time that one day, we had a gunship up and it discovered a cruise ship in trouble with pirates. So the commander asked me if I wanted to take a ride.
He told me to put on one of my ninja outfits and play body guard. So, I hurried down to my cabin and changed into one of my ninja outfits including the sword.
So we climbed aboard one of the rescue helicopters and flew out to the ship
