  DON'T NEED

  I don’t need more clothes

  I don’t need more stuff

  the ones who’ve got all

  are the poorest at heart

  I’d rather be happy

  I’d rather be free

  than live in a world

  that don’t care about me

  You keep your money

  and I’ll keep my soul

  the best things in life

  you know they come free

  So give me the day

  and give me the night

  keep all your worries

  and the reasons you fight

  I’m not touching your guns

I don’t care for your wars

  just give me my music

  and hear how it roars

  Give me freedom and love

give me strength to be tough

keep your lies and your fears

  and your bloody frontiers

  I’ll be standing right here

  with the people I love

  I’ll be standing right here

  spreading my love

You can join if you want

and build a home if you want

we can all live as one

  you’ll never have to run

  Just give up the fears

  you’ve had all those years

  there is freedom inside

  but you’re keeping it tied

  All your love fortified

  release it worldwide

stop your fuss and your fight

  and come see the light

Stop your fuss and your fight

  and come see the light…

  ALL IN

  I’m not a gambling man

  but tonight I’m all in

  Not sure where I’m going

but I know where I’ve been

Let’s set this night on fire

come on and let’s get a little higher

  Everything that I own

is right here on this table

I want to let you know

  I’m willing and able

to stand next to you and be your man

to show you love like no one else can

  I’ve lost you once

  when I said goodbye

  now I’m not going back

  won’t live in a lie

Take me away from this terrible town

take me away before I go down

  I’m not a gambling man

but tonight I’m going all in

  Got nothing to lose

but I’ve got you to win

Let’s set this night on fire

my darling, let’s get a little higher

  EVERY SINGLE DAY

  Every single day

  trouble comes my way

  it falls down on me

  and won’t hear my plea

  won’t leave me alone

let me live on my own

  Every single day

  trouble finds a way

  up to my head

  I’m slowly going mad

  won’t you set me free

  won’t you let me be

  Every single day

  trouble makes me play

  all the wicked games

  I’m going down in flames

  don’t you hear my cry

don’t you care if I die

  Every single day

I join my hands and pray

for my troubles to go away

for my mind to find a way

and not worry all that much

I just need some human touch

  LET ME IN

  Driving down your street

in cold night or midday heat

  I’m trying to compete

  I’m trying hard to beat

  all those other guys

  who would tell you lies

You can say that I’m a stalker

but I’m not some big time talker

‘round your house is where I’ll be walking

but you’ll open the door when I come knocking

Let me in, I bring you love

Let me in and get rid of

  all those other guys

‘cause all they have is lies

So let me in, I bring what’s true

Let me in, I thought you knew

  about all those other guys

with all their talk and lies

I watch you from a distance

  adore your whole existence

I wait ‘til you call for my aid

  help you find some shade

  from all those other guys

  who would tell you lies

And if you say that I’m stalking

baby, I’ll just keep on walking

and let those other guys do their talking

but don’t you come back knocking

I won’t let you in when you bring no love

Won’t let you in and help you get rid of

  all those other guys

with all their talk and lies

So let me in, no time to lose

Let me in and don’t you choose

  all those other guys

‘cause all they have is lies

  ANOTHER CIGARETTE

As the day turns to night

my mind puts up a fight

  to avoid all dark spots

  and resist all sad thoughts

You tell me to light another cigarette

  and learn to forget

but how can I do that

with nothing else to look at

  Where have you been?

Did you trade your love in

  for sleepless nights

  under blackened lights

  What have you done?

  Am I still the one

  that you want to see

the one who sets you free

How do I forget where you’ve been

and how you shared your sweet loving

How do I forget what you’ve done

and how I’m not the only one

  Won’t you meet me halfway

  with something new to say

don’t tell me to light another cigarette

  and learn to forget

As the night turns to day

  my mind wanders away

  from all dark spots

  from all said thoughts

  I light another cigarette

  and learn to forget

  I wait for the night

I’ll try to win this fight

  RAIN FALLS DOWN

  I’ve got a

  heart full of pain,

  just cannot contain

  I’ve got two

  feet that won’t walk,

  stuck on this rock

  And the rain falls down…

  I’ve got a

  life filled with shame,

  losing this game

  I’ve got two

  hands that can’t build,

  fight with no shield

  And the rain falls down…

  I’ve got a

  job with no pay,

  still back every day

  I’ve got two

  eyes full of tears,

  depress
ed for years

  And the rain falls down…

  I’ve got a

  head full of thoughts,

  can’t connect any dots

  I’ve got two

  ears filled with screams,

  enough of your schemes

  And the rain falls down…

  DIFFERENT FROM ALL

  A child was conceived

  on one Christmas eve

and in fall of next year

  his mother would hear

  her only sons voice

  so loud and so clear

  A child so small

  his name I won’t call

  grew into a boy

  brought people some joy

  so peaceful and calm

  so different from all

  And all through his youth

  encounter he would

  people so strange

  and all made him change

  from peaceful and calm

  to different from all

  Into his teens

  he had all those dreams

  of grounds yet uncovered

  of roads undiscovered

  and people would pray

  come together and say

  “He was peaceful and calm,

  so different from all…”

  A young man he was

  like all, he had flaws

but he met this one flower

and she gave him his power

  she was peaceful and calm

  so different from all

  A young man he was

  fought for his cause

  “No religion, no god,

  enough with this fraud!”

  And the people would gather

  and the people would say

  “We share your desire,

  we stand by your fire!”

  And the people would plea

  to come set them free

and he showed them the way

  in bright light of day

  “Follow this path,

  forget all your wrath,

  go share your desires

  and stand by your fires…”

  With those words he departed

  and a fire was started

  he took this one flower

  that gave him his power

  together they’d flee

  together they’d be

  so peaceful and calm

  so different from all

  Later in life

  alone with his wife

  he’d think about those dreams

  almost forgotten it seems

  the burning desire

  the hot inner fire

  now peaceful and calm

  still different from all

  And on his dying day

she’d be right there to say

  “Thank you love, for all you’ve done;

thank you love, my only one…”

  And after his last breath

the man would meet his death

  so peaceful and calm

  so different from all

  And his name was forgotten

  and his body had rotten

  but his spirit lives on

  and his fire burns on

  in all those who gather

  in all those who say

  “We share your desire,

  we stand by your fire…”

  STAY WITH ME

All those times you begged me to stay

but still I got up and went away

now I’m sorry I didn’t see things your way

You told me that you’d die for me

but if I could have things my way

I’d rather see you live longer than me

The thought of losing you is too much to bare

I hope the news of your death

is something I’ll never have to share

  Stay with me,

  stay with me…

  I wait for you

  down by the beach

  I wait for you

  I’m in your reach

  Stay with me

  down by the beach

  Stay with me

  and in my reach

  Stay with me,

  stay with me…

  ARE YOU READY?

  Well girl are you ready

  to break my heart?

I said girl are you ready

  for a whole new start?

  Are you ready to leave

and find someone else to give

  yourself and all you have

and leave me broken here in half?

  Well girl I’m not ready

for you to break my heart

I said girl I’m not ready

  for a whole new start

I gotta tell you I’m ready

  for all your love

  and I wanna go steady

  with you, my love

  So honey don’t you leave

and find someone else to give

  yourself and all you have

don’t leave me broken here in half

‘Cause you know I’m not ready

for you to break my heart

and you know I’m not ready

  for a whole new start

  I’m not ready

  to let you go

  I’m not ready

  so please don’t go

  And if you’re ready

  then come to me

  if you’re ready

  to stand by me

  WAITING

I’m waiting here for a brand new day

I’m waiting for the Sun to show me the way

I’m waiting for my morning flight

I’m done waiting for you to pick a fight

I’m waiting here in this rundown house

I’m waiting silent just like a mouse

I’m waiting still for my salvation

I’m done waiting for you and your temptation

I’m waiting here in the dark of night

I’m waiting for the Sun to shine its light

I’m waiting for my chance to run away

I’m done waiting for you to come back and stay

I’m waiting here down by the phone

I’m waiting stranded on my own

I’m waiting naked in the storm

I’m done waiting for you to keep me warm

I’m waiting here for my friends to come

I’m waiting for my mind to tell me I have none

I’m waiting to find some new direction

I’m done waiting for you to show some affection

I’m waiting here and drinking rum

I’m waiting ‘til I start feeling numb

I’m waiting to forget all of my pains

I’m done waiting for you to release me from chains

  And I wait…

  and I wait…

  and I wait…

  and I’m done…

  YOU STILL HAUNT MY DREAMS

  After all those years

  you still haunt my dreams

  under my skin so deep

  I can’t get no sleep

  No whiskey, no drugs

  will let me forget

  your love and your hugs

is what I need to get

  I stand for love

  and won’t fall for hate

  I made my choice

but I made it too late

I remember when you were my girl

  and we had it all

I remember when you were my girl

  can you still recall

  all those times

  you stood by me

  and all those times

  you laid beside me

  And after all those years

  you still haunt my dreams

  release your grip

  let go of your whip

  ‘Cause you will always be

  more than just a memory

  and you will never be

  part of some forgotten history
/>
  And I fell for love

  but never stood for hate

  I made my choice

but I made it too late

  AUTHOR’S NOTES

So, yeah ... that was the fourth part of the series. You can find the first three, along with a short story, here:

  Volume 5 coming next month.

I don’t think people even read this section. Why would you - there is nothing important here, just me being bored and typing stuff. ‘Lost’ was a great TV show.
