Read Love Hope and Tears Page 3

shrouds

Ash licks my clothes, my hair, my skin

I am dead, and yet here I am living

This is man all his dark deeds

A creature that feeds and feeds

On fear, but I might survive

This hell, where hope is not alive

  No strength to mourn

  Another child still born

At night, I try to cry

Dam that flood, or you’ll die

  In this graveyard scene

  All wraiths spirits unclean

  Touched by bitter hands

  Clutched by Faustian plans

  Deal in death and tragedy

  Until comes my liberty

  Then I’m sobbing, weeping

  Finally resting, finally sleeping

And I am slumped over, falling

  Hyenas are mockingly calling,

It's into the abyss, into the dark

Devoured by that great white shark

  Shadows we shall be

I am a shadow beneath the sun

For which dusk had sordid come

To tell me that my day was done

  Night was soon to overrun

  Shadows are mindful wraiths

  Creatures that a dreamer makes

Though such Dreams are but fakes

They cause in men fearful quakes

  Who really knows their shadow?

  It's as if a field's lying fallow

  Wherein seeds germinate

  That did lie in wait

  To feast on cold despair

  Grown from unnatural fare

So if you ever do implode

Think on what hate doth mould

  As violent pasts oft betray

The victim who was the prey

  When grown to full maturity?

  Unleashed can be savagery

  Remember how it's given birth

By crushing hope and self worth

  It's cultivated from putrid hate

And if allowed rules future state

So here’s a warning to you all

If ever shadows come to call

Do not like Angels greatly fall

Beware if ever sun stand still

  Earthly movement turn to nil

  Or Shadow lands become real

For such ghouls cast by sun

Dance and play as if for fun

War on light till day is done

  Creators of unnatural shapes

  Hidden by gilded drapes

  Acts governed by the fates

  For darkness does devour all

Even time is held in thrall

A mute voice a silent call

  Shadows oft come pestering

  Burning raging festering

  Vulgar base gesturing

A reminder of pasts long gone

  When done was dreadful wrong

It was an evil they did prolong

  Such dark memories do stain

They're part of some older pain

That people simply do not tame

  Multiply hurt by corrective slime

  For committing the smallest crime

Like stepping on a limpet mine

And you'll see you can't be free

  Chained by aspects of memory

  That remains in lost repository

Until called upon is a reckoning

That was an anger driven in

  When plagued by another's sin

  Hearts once repeatedly torn

  Become empathy withdrawn

So that is what's truly born

  Memories held in secrecy

  Are some bruised lycanthropy

For this world imprisons the weak

The angered youth that cannot speak

They are devoured by vile shadows

Which wait like glass in the shallows

They linger for when time is ripe

To fill the void with fearful type

  Triggered by hateful chimes

  Insanity magnified many times

So will you ever learn the truth?

Of what becomes of burdened youth

Or hope never to wake and see

The dormant volcano that you be

  Love will Never Die

I would ride the waves for you

Have you not the strength to see

  Aspiring to reach such heights

To bring your love to me

I would forge a greater love

To drive away a greyer past

  Not knowing whether heavens dove

Could bring about this love to last

Should there not be this peace

That beckons to an aged heart

Do not feel aggrieved or cease

In your search to play this part

  For wondering minstrels oft sung

  Their lonely serenade

When thoughts of love were done

  They'd gently watched them fade

So do not be so tireless

  When time goes a chasing

  For loves eternal crest

  We'll always be a facing

  Though older men remonstrate

That love did pass them by

Let us guard against this fate

By saying love will never die

Love will never die my love

  Love will never die

Let us guard against this fate

By saying love will never die

  Spirit Ties

Do not tie me to a spirit unlike my own

Rather to amble wisp play with time

  That most precious of commodities

Which scorns a single waste of breath

Don't tie me to a spirit unlike mine

  Which damns reasoned thought

And if they say it's not a crime

To be in a mindless vision caught

The winds of fury would be blown

So much anger in a mild spirit grown

Rather I'd waist most precious Time

Than be tied to a spirit unlike mine

  My
Distant Horizon

How distant is this horizon I look upon

I try to move close, yet there is no escape

For the depth between us only increases

The sun leaves a tortured bruised sky

Where this mortal soul dare not fly

For I am lost in this distant horizon

I would give a cry stolen by the wind

For my heart has no one to call upon

No one to hear the message sent

This barrier built on a foundation of fears

Crumbling through a tide of tears

They slowly envelop my distant horizon

This transient unseen breath calls upon

The echoing silence of a love long gone

  Hatism

  I don't believe there's racism

But I do believe there's hatism

For those that say they are racist

Are more often than not hatist

They wear racism as a symbol

  It's an antisocial protective thimble

  Preventing them from racial harm

Which for them works like a charm

But should you call it what it is

They start to simmer, start to hiss

For no one thinks they're hate

  Their minds are too weak

  And their egos too great

So when you see national rallies

Just remember its hate that dallies

You see there's never been an ideal state

But there's always been the idea of hate

  To be Alone

To be alone is to be a stranger

To walk paths fraught with danger

There is no soaring as a bird

No comforting prose can be heard

There is no sound to make you sing

No open arms to welcome you in

And when I stand and watch the sea

There is no one that stands with me

Like the moon up in the sky

  Watching stars pass me by

  Waiting for that eternal night

Where the sun sheds no light

And if you to stood alone

Like a statue on your own

  Watching others pass you by

  Never learning how to fly

Perhaps you too would give a cry

Calling out though you know not why

  Walking like a mythical creature

  Raving like a fanatical preacher

And if at once we all stood their

  To share someone's deep despair

Perhaps this picture would be framed

  And loneliness would be shamed

For strangers march one by one

  Never walking beneath the sun

  Always standing in the shadows

  Waiting for unhallowed gallows

And at the last it hinders me

The mirror and the sights I see

There's no escaping that dark place

Nor the look upon that face

And how that mask defends me

Defends the man I want to be

For in the end we're all alone

A single monument made of stone

  But would you comfort me

Place flowers for all to see

  Whisper words God can hear

Chase away pain, sorrow and fear
