Read Mary: Lost Page 3

in has residential building. Moving from the high rise, I come to rows of houses. Familiar place at last. Although it was not home, it felt kind of good. Some resemble my home surrounding that I thought I was nearing home. Like the car junkyard, familiar houses even the road strangely looks familiar. Home please be near.

Alas! It was not so. I continued wandering. The place is at least better than the crowded street filled with rushing people. The air too felt much better. Then it hit me. If I looked at the bus route 45 and followed those buses, I surely would be able to find my way back home. The first task is to locate a bus number with 45 route number.

The road comes to deserted areas and I continues on. The more I went the fewer people I come across. I continue following the road. Each time I hear the roar of an engine, I stop. Only large trucks passed so far. The large trucks continued being the only vehicles on the road. Sometimes as they passed, I had to cling harder on the ground as they breeze they created felt it could blow me away. The road entered through area with large buildings. Many had the tag warehouses. Gut feeling knew I am going the wrong way but I don't want to retrace my steps. Finally I came to a dead end. No road just grass. No hint of vehicles pass here. I admit it, I would have to retrace my step.

Walking became the only thing I was created to do. Nothing is on my mind, only the legs did anything. The surrounding nothing, only walk. Coming to crossroads I don't think, only the aching tired legs lead.

I don't how it happened but I just found myself looking at the route 45 on the bus coming towards me. I thought my heart burst. Finally I will be to reach home. The bus is coming faster. Coming towards me blaring as if it is meant only to hurt my ears. It zoomed past after spewing it's exhaust fumes on me. I cough and start following the road with my brain now fully on. Exhaust fumes spouted on to by the cars made my already dry throat crave for water. However I move on.

I saw a woman wearing cardigan. Although I only saw her back, I thought she looks like my mother. I try to hurry to her. She takes the road on the right. Another bus 45 passes, spews more exhaust fumes on me and takes the left road. After a few coughs I stood still and watch her back get smaller, smaller till the light brown cardigan fades with other colour of other cloths. I take the left road and continue.

Devilish hair, a missing ribbon, and tired. I wondered how I will be received as I neared home. They all had the keys copy, so I wouldn't find them camped outside. I arrived. The house like outside is dark. The first one to arrive.
