Read My Crazmad Book of Poems Page 6

rained all day,

  No sign of the sun,

  It was hiding away.

  I stepped through the grass,

  Submerged by the rain,

It was a cold, dark day,

  ‘Cos it rained all day.

  My feet got wet.

  In the water all around,

  I felt as though,

  My bones were drowned.

By the end of the day,

  Of falling H20,

  Rising up from the ground,

  Springs began to flow.

  Having suffered enough,

  I retired to bed,

Submerged my face in a book,

And sailed away in my head.

  The Blackbird’s Song

At half past five I heard it sing,

  Perched high upon the post,

Its song greets the new day,

  With beautiful tone and notes.

Each year I wait for that magical day,

When it starts the song anew,

It’s the very same yet changed somehow,

Is this noticed by only the few?

I often think and ponder this,

That if it didn’t happen just so,

If the song stayed the same each year,

Would I hold it just as dear?

Next time you’re out on a fine spring day,

  Listen to the blackbird’s song,

  Remember me and remember it,

And enjoy his song so rare.

  The First Swallow

I caught my first glimpse of a swallow today,

It was flying above me in the fair month of May.

It was a balmy, clear evening, with blue turning red,

My senses leaped skyward to the bird in my ahead.

As it flew past me not missing a beat,

I tried to keep watching its miraculous feat.

Until it disappeared, vanished from view,

Leaving me empty and feeling so blue.

Appearing again, in a dive and a rush,

It swooped towards me, tweeting why all the fuss?

Then higher and higher I followed her flight,

Finding each other, we knew it was right.

We will have a summer, a good summer this year,

For God touched my heart when he opened the door,

To the wonder, the marvel and the beauty there is,

Surrounding us daily; life is surely no quiz!

  I’m NOT Mad!!!

I’m not mad; mad, mad, mad,

  I’m not mad, not me!

I'm not mad, mad, mad, mad,

  I’m not mad, hee hee.

  I’M NOT MAD!

We’ll, not so much that anyone would notice, would they?
