Read My Kinda Poetry 2 Page 4

  History

  Into the fray once again,

No time to stop for answers.

Might must prevail, that is the way.

Right or wrong is of no consequence.

Death and destruction is left in the

Pathway that evil men choose to take, the world be damned, they say.

The people follow blindly like mindless

Robots eager to join the ranks of the

  War machine.

Willing to take up arms for a seemingly noble and righteous cause.

They would die to fulfill the evil dreams of a madman's delusions.

History has taught us nothing, we

Did not learn so we are subject to repeat it.

Putin, Hitler it all seems so familiar.

  Celebrate Poetry

Is a poem just a rhyme describing

A moment in time or should it be much more?

Is it just a little ditty, all cute with

  Fluffy, beautiful, meaningless words,

  Disjointed senseless phrases devoid

Of any purposeful use to mankind.

  Quickly thought out quirky questions

That leave us nothing but doubt

As to what the hell it's all about.

Or should the words torment the page,

Fill it with rage, spill blood from the

Writer's heart and soul, come alive

With thoughts so profound they are

Carried around in our head all day.

Should the words titivate and annihilate the senses, give meaning

And purpose to our lives, shock or surprise, make a political statement.

A poem is all of these wonderful things, a beautiful work of art,

A treasure of bountiful words for

  The reader to feast upon.

So read, enjoy and celebrate poetry.

  Expectations

  There is no greater motivation

  Than inspiration,

Add in a lot of hard work and

  Determination,

  Throw in personal initiative and

  Perspiration.

And you've got the right combination

  For success.

  So begin the celebration without

  Further deliberation,

  You can become a sensation,

  Receive validation,

  Without hesitation,

  Avoid the frustration,

  And step right up.

  It's time for participation,

  So start a lifelong vacation,

It has a long shelf life with no

  Expiration.

  Great expectations.

  Clouds

If I were a cloud I'd do nothing

but drift around in the sky all

  day, aimlessly floating free.

I would spend my time in the

  blue leisurely day dreaming

  with no responsibilities.

  Sometimes I'd get dark and

angry, full of water and I

would over flow and make it rain.

And if I were really full the very

next day, still mad and gray, I'd

turn right around and do it again

  Until the bright sunshine comes,

heating up the sky with its radiant

beams and drives me all away .

I would stay in hiding until once

again I feel the need to accumulate

and happily come back out to play.

  Stop and do a Kindness

Stop to smell the flowers along

the way, why be in such a hurry?

Your world is gonna turn just fine

if you take the time and don't worry.

'Cause one day you'll wake up and

wonder where did all the time go.

And the only answer you'll be able to

think of is that you just don't know.

So stop and do a kindness for your

fellow man, take a little time to care.

Enjoy what this world with all its

  wonderful surprises has to share.

  My Daily Promise

I will aspire to excellence daily

In every aspect of my life.

I will try harder, work harder,

To do my best to get it right.

I will focus on the task at hand,

Of the highest quality of myself I

  Will demand.

No one can do it for me, I must

Stand alone to triumph over sloth.

To be victorious in the battle of

  Me against my weaknesses.

I will soar above the masses flying

  High,

I will achieve my dreams and more.

  This I promise to myself.

  To myself be true.

  Conclusion

I'm afraid this is no delusion

  Nor is it an illusion.

I hope there is no confusion

But we have come to the conclusion.
