My mother had clothing stores when I was young so I worked with her a lot. I was always fascinated by her unique style because she sold a lot of vintage Hawaiian shirts — not the tacky ones they sell now. I always wanted to do something with clothing and the Kaftans sparked my interest because it reminds me of the free love mentality of the 60s. We’re going to release accessories soon like scarves and bracelets, too.

You’re the mother of three children, Jeremy Skott Snider, Julian Lang Snider, Zoe Katrina D'Andrea, and stepmother to your stepdaughter Danyelle Puschendorf D'Andrea. What has motherhood taught you?

That there is more to life than myself. It’s taught me how to care for other people — and patience. Being loving and setting boundaries. I’ve realized I would jump in front of a bullet for them. Being a mother supercedes everything in life. Your inner lioness takes over.

Just do the opposite of Brooke!

  [Laughs]

No, I think Brooke’s is a good mother deep down.

  Me, too!

How have you juggled motherhood and starring on an international hit soap opera?

It’s funny because I like doing everything myself! To me, it seems harder to delegate things to my husband because no one does it the way you want. I take control and do everything myself, which is probably not the best idea, but I like to keep busy. Now that the kids are older, I still need to keep myself busy so now I’m producing a web series, creating my fashion line and of course working on B&B. I love my life.

Next week, KKL exclusively tackles the Ridge texting debacle, Susan Flannery’s upcoming exit, and Brooke’s next love interest!

This Week’s Hottest News, Gossip, and Reviews!

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, CTV/CBS — More Flavour Headed B&B’s Way!

  • B&B is casting a new contract role because it doesn’t have enough actors it can’t write for already! Here’s the breakdown:

[HISPANIC LEADING LADY] Hispanic Female. Late 20’s, early 30’s. Smart, beautiful, young executive. Goes after what she wants. An Eva Longoria-type. Contract role.

  • In story 411, it looks like Katie decides to leave town and her baby. “Bill’s at a total loss. He’s blindsighted,” says Heather Tom, who begins her mat leave. Buzz is B&B is going to pair Brooke and Bill together while Katie’s away! Thoughts?

  • SOAPS IN DEPTH suggests Grant Aleksander could play Ridge in this week’s CBS issue. Not bad. I’d like to see that. The rag also lists Bradley Cole (who Brad Bell originally wanted to play Nick Marone), Tuc Watkins, and Grayson McCouch as possible nuRidges. I still vote for Robert Kelker-Kelly!

  • My invite must have been lost in the mail! Congratulations are in order for Emmy winner Scott Clifton, who married longtime love Nicole Lampson on Oct. 23. Guests included John McCook, Ronn Moss, Kristolyn Lloyd, Don Diamont, Adam Gregory, Kim Matula, Ed and Melody Thomas Scott, and Jackie MacInnes Wood.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES, GLOBAL/NBC — Brady… and Kristen? Salem 90210!

  • The soaps are casting up a storm! Not to be outdone, DAYS is currently seeking a new teen to shake up its canvas. And the breakdown sounds promising and very detailed (most casting descriptors are pretty ambiguous). Judge for yourself:

[DAVID] 15 to 18 year old GORGEOUS CAUCASIAN MALE. David is the heartthrob teenager who makes the girls swoon. He is charismatic and unbelievably charming. He has a rebellious troublemaker streak that is fueled by hostility resulting from his unresolved feelings of loss and feelings of abandonment. His demeanor can turn on a dime and this unpredictable quality only adds to his appeal. Pain and resentment can make him act out at times but his heart is gold. CONTRACT ROLE.

He may not be a hunk but DAYS could use the talents and popularity of Eddie Alderson!

  • More days ahead for Peggy McKay, reports SOAP OPERA DIGEST! Despite the fact that this week Caroline prepares to leave with Bo to seek treatment her early Alzheimer’s disease, the Daytime Emmy Award-nominated vet will be back, promises McKay. “They reassured me that Caroline would live for a long time.” Or until DAYS is cancelled. While Bo’s exit storyline is quite lackluster, I have to say, I think Caroline’s disease explains why the hero would leave his wife, child and home. For now, that is. Let’s hope Bo doesn’t catch Caroline texting Stefano DiMera!

  • It looks like DAYS will be chem testing Brady and Kristen! Perfect. That’s exactly what I was hoping but, knowing Gary Tomlin, DAYS will screw this potentially hot pairing, too. In story, Brady saves Kristen from a mugging. (Like Kristen would need saving; the vixen could beat up the mugger and Brady at the same time.)

  • In story 411, it looks like the rumours are true: Gabi is preggers with Will’s baby! Gabi will begin fainting in Nick’s arms very shortly.

GENERAL HOSPITAL, CITYTV /ABC — More Black Candy on GH!

  • Coming soon to UNCENSORED: Kassie DePaiva and I catch up regarding ONE LIFE’s demise and her upcoming GH appearance as Blair. “I tape next week for two days and I’ll air for four days,” she tells me. “But I haven’t received the scripts so I have no idea what I’m doing.” Don’t miss this interview where we talk about why she feels GH is not ONE LIFE 2.0, why the ABC soap will never offer her a contract, her thoughts on Carly, why Todd isn’t Todd, how she feels about Trevor St. John, if she regrets turning down B&B, and which CBS soap opera she’s really dying to work on! Oh, and she put her hubby and former ONE LIFE co-star James De Paiva on the phone, too. God, I miss my Llanview.

  • Casting Coach: As I reported exclusively on Twitter last week, ABC’s lone soap is adding more colour to its canvas. GH is casting the role of Dash, an African American male. The role descriptor reads: 20 to 25. Handsome, colorful, charismatic. He is bright, charming, appealing. Fun-loving and passionate...CONTRACT ROLE.” Where’s Cornelius Smith (AMC) when you need him?

  • What is she thinking? Nancy Lee Grahn will be appearing on THE CHEW, the show that replaced iconic AMC, on Nov. 8. Let’s hope the Emmy winner fares better than Laura Wright did when she appeared on the stupid show. Yes, Grahn can argue that she’s promoting GH but I highly doubt many soap fans are watching that piece of garbage. Her appearance will only help THE CHEW.

  • It’s finally happened: Steve Burton last aired on GH yesterday as Jason was shot by Duke and thrown into the water. While Liason fans are lamenting the loss of the anti-hero, I offer that the Emmy winner’s departure is the best thing to happen to the show since Cartini took over. This endangered soap opera can not afford to be polarized due to mean-spirited couple fanbase wars, which Burton, no fault of his own, naturally creates with each pairing. Some of these Liason fans act like the Tea Party on crack… no offense to the sane Liason fans because I am one, too. And, yes, I’m also a JaSam fan! I just want good story!

Meanwhile, Jason’s “death” kicks off a big new storyline, head writer Ron Carlivati previews in this week’s DIGEST.

“After these dramatic events unfold, Monica receives some pretty shocking news, an in digesting this we see her turn to a family photo album, and she’s looking at pictures of Jason and Jason is very much on her mind,” Carlivati sets up. “Later in that episode, we see her making a mysterious phone call and that precipitates the next big event in the Quartermaine family, which is going to affect pretty much everyone on the canvas.”

  Hello, A.J.!

  • The big rumour making the rounds is that Duke is really Faison with plastic surgery. This buzz would explain why Duke has turned all Republican on us. At Luke’s insistence, Anna tests Duke’s fingerprints — and it’s a match! But we all know how Cartini likes a bait-and-switch…

  • How wonderful is this? In its annual Most Beautiful Women issue, SOAP OPERA DIGEST picked Jane Elliot as its starring beauty! Totally cool. FYI: Finola Hughes also made the cut. Pick up your copy to see who else from daytime was named the genre’s most beautiful. I guess I was left on the cutting room floor; bastards!

; • Did you know that Scott Reeves’ DAYS wife, Missy, once babysat for Steve Burton’s daughter Makena? And probably served Chick-Fil-A baby food, too. Also, according to DIGEST, Master Steve Burton has made a whopping 67 appearances on the cover of the magazine!

  • Maybe Vanessa Marcil doesn’t need money that bad anymore and won’t return to GH. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge tossed out a lawsuit Brian Austin Green brought against his ex the former GH beauty over purported unpaid loans, reports eonline.com. Green was seeking $200,000 from Marcil, whom he met while they both appeared on BEVERLY HILLS, 90210. The duo share a son, Kassius, 10. Bygones.

  • Everyone knows I love head writer Ron Carlivati but, like Brad Pitt, he’s missing a sensitivity chip. I’m having rapemance flashbacks while I watch this Connie DID mess! Why is Ron and Kelly Sullivan treating mental illness like it’s a comedy? This is serious stuff, folks! Smarten up! GH should be ashamed of themselves for writing this hackery. Oh, and fire Kelly, btw, who has officially made my Hair Model List. She is no actress.

ONE LIFE TO LIVE/THE GROVE — Ver Dorn on VENICE?

  • It’s finally here: THE GROVE series promo has arrived online — and
