“So what did you tell them during your interrogation?” growled Sataal at Manutaai.
Before he could answer, the cell door hummed open and half a dozen guards stormed in with their fire ember weapons drawn. The men had learnt they were called Gloctols. Two guards grabbed Manutaai, injecting him with a vicious needle in the throat. As he collapsed they dragged his unconscious body out as another guard grabbed and hurled one of Sataal’s soldiers out the door. The startled men barely got to their feet, and the whole surreal scene was over.
“What the hell is going on?” an infuriated Sataal exclaimed.
