  "You see," said Franklyn, "They were very happy for a while after they got rid of them Maritanians."

  The Maritanians gave him a look then, and he shrank even further into himself. "Then," Franklyn continued meekly, "then they all started fighting among themselves. They blew up Halfpancakegea all around, until there was only a tiny little island left."

  Suddenly, Evol turned away from the rest of the group and climbed out the window. When he re-emerged a few minutes later, he was carrying the torn bright yellow flag off the rooftop. The Asbestan looked at him with alarm, but Evol just put the flag down on some boxes. Then he said: "From now on, we are the sole inhabitants of Pancakegea. Or whatever is left of it, anyway. Victory is ours. And I, Evol Maurits-Sander, am your new king. Alphonso, go make us a new flag."

  "Your Majesty, but how? There isn't a thing left here to make a flag out of."

  "I don't know. Take this one and paint it blue."

  The End

  In a few months, one of the ships of the Floating Army of Ubrik discovered a tiny island floating in the ocean. They couldn't believe that this island, now inhabited only by blue tailed Sprouts, who would not let them dock for a minute, was all that remained of Halfpancakegea. They diligently combed the seas for several years in search of the vast Continent that once their home as well, but, of course, they didn't find it.
