  3:

  Moon stood up behind the podium. It was time for him to address his followers. It was time to take the war forward. It was clear that everyone knew the reason of being called; some of the higher, more powerful, soldiers stood dressed in some a form of uniform.

  There was a moral that kept the army, and Moon's leadership only pushed them to a higher moral. It was great leadership that had allowed them survival for a long time; it was he that had decided to prevent the King and the Princes from taking a world that is not belonging to them.

  As he and Silver had talked and decided, it was time to stop those individuals once and for all. With Silver as a secret weapon of sorts, they had a great chance of success.

  “My friends and allies…” Moon addressed them, “We stand here today at the start of something new. We, my closest advisors and I, have decided: it is time. It is time for the Princes to fall and for peace to be restored. It is time for life to continue and happiness to return to us…

  :::

  “Let’s head forward to the Princes’ keep…

  :::

  The army had gathered upon the lands near where what used to be an old stone-sided church had been made into a fort—claimed by the Four Princes. It had been built up over the years since the war, resembling a castle.

  Most the buildings that had been down the base of the hill the castle had been built had been razed to the ground, leaving it as plains; a tactical plan of the Princes to have a clear line of sight for there not to have been a sneak attack.

  :::

  “…And bring them down beneath our feet…

  :::

  The enemy forces had come to greet the rebel forces—a mix of mindless Risen and Dealk warriors who fought in the name of their Princes and their fallen King.

  The Rebels, led by Moon, stood a mix of humans and the Dealk who had opposed the King, and his heirs.

  :::

  “…For we stand together; our wills fighting their empty hearts…

  :::

  Silver had stood back with Moon temporarily as the battle had begun. As his gaze was cast to those who would fight on his side; his voice commanding them, directing them…

  Silver looked up at him; it seemed as if it had only begun not long before. It was hard to believe all that had occurred to get to that point.

  :::

  “…They see us as nothing; they treat us as nothing…

  :::

  Samina had seen the spacecraft land. It had, after all, landed in the field behind her house. She had watched the tall individual pull the device from the ship and placed it firmly on the ground.

  He was greatly taller than anyone she had seen before; she could see that even from a distance. It was quite obvious that he wasn't human.

  Something in her pulled her from her task, grabbing a decorative sword she kept on her wall, and led her out to his location.

  Her arrival drew his attention. He was almost three feet taller than her; his hair was long and a dark gray color, pulled into three ponytails; two in front one in back.

  His gray eyed gaze met her gaze. "If if isn't one of the pests," he stated.

  :::

  …We must show them that we are so much more than toys for their amusement…

  :::

  “I am not a pest.” Samina stated. “It is you that clearly does not belong.”

  “Hard to believe that one of you creatures dare come face me, a female one at that.” The man stated.

  “My name is Samina, and I am a human being that belongs to this place.” She stated. “Who are you to speak for how I am?”

  The individual before her stood up straight and turned to face her, “I am Vasanta, King of the Dealk.”

  “Why are you here?” Samina asked harshly, “…and what the hell is that?” she pointed to the machine he had brought out.”

  “This?” Vasanta motioned to the, “This is the machine that will wipe this planet of you useless beings so we can take it for ourselves.”

  :::

  “…That we deserve to live life…

  :::

  Samina was taken aback by the blunt statement. And something switched on within her. She wasn’t sure what it was; she wasn’t sure why; but she drew the sword she had brought with her from its sheath.

  “I will not allow that.” Samina stated.

  “Are you a warrior of this world?” he asked, almost seeming amused at her actions.

  “Hardly; I’m just a girl.” Samina stated, tossing the sheath aside, she brandished it.

  The King, appearing amused, grinned, bearing an inhuman, almost wolfish grin. He reached to his back and beneath the cloak he wore, pulled out a sword of his own—one heavy and thick, making Samina’s pale in comparison.

  Nevertheless, it wasn’t he who made the first move: it was Samina… her charging for the attack.

  :::

  “…To pursue our own dreams…

  :::

  Samina stood panting, blood on her clothing; her own, broken sword in her left hand. She was exhausted; the only thing that kept her to her feet was the fact that she was using the King’s sword, which she had driven into the machine top, as a brace.

  Yes, she had won her battle; she had killed the one who claimed to have come to destroy those who inhabited the world. She had taken his sword up as her own and had driven it into the machine, destroying it.

  :::

  “...That we won’t just lie down and die…

  :::

  Moorawisen could hardly have believed his eyes. He had witnessed a human woman take down the King of the Dealk. Many Dealk rebels had tried their hands at such a task and yet none had succeeded.

  He had been so stunned by the truth before him; he had delayed on fetching her from the battlefield. In doing so, it had become too dangerous to do so. The King’s sons—the Four Princes—had come upon the scene.

  The woman still lingering by the destroyed machine stood up straight, pulling out the King’s sword from the device. Holding it in her right hand and her own broken sword in her left, she faced the Princes

  Moorawisen was certain she was going to fight them, too.

  “I stopped it.” The woman, Samina stated.

  The Four Princes withdrew their own weapons and stood to face her.

  “Little pest, how dare you.” The red-head Dealk spat.

  “I did what I had to.” Samina stated. Her energy was gone; her drive had fallen. She gazed at each of them and walked forward a few feet.

  “We’re going to kill you for this.” The black haired one calmly stated.

  A moment passed, Samina took a deep breath. She tossed both swords aside, “…Fine…” she stated, “…as I am…I can do no more…” she stated as she sat down upon the ground, sitting on her heels.

  The Four looked at one another.

  The blond one smiled, “Together, my brothers.” He stated elegantly.

  The brown-haired one nodded.

  Each of the four went to Samina, who sat, eyes closed… There, simultaneously, the four drove their swords into her back.

  :::

  “…Let’s go… and fight!

  :::

  Moorawisen had gathered the girl’s corpse into his arms and treaded away from the battlefield that had been made.

  It was beyond his right mind that she had killed the King only to turn around and allow the Princes to take her life. He was pondering on the existence of destiny; wondering if the woman’s purpose in life was the death of the King and the destruction of his human genocide machine.

  He had taken her into a quiet section of wooded area he came across and laid her upon the ground. He sat upon the ground next to her and gazed down at her; he pondered.

  The girl had just saved her entire race and had died for it; the stopping of the genocide alone was worthy of praise… He had wished he had pulled her from the battlefield
before their arrival.

  He had not…but he had taken her body with him… It meant he could thank her in the only way he knew he was able. He was unsure how she would come to think of him afterwards, but he didn’t care. Her will was too great to lose in what he knew would come.

  It was that moment that Moorawisen had decided: he would give some of his life so she could live again.

  :::

  “…And win no matter the cost!”
