expect preferential treatment. Whatever.
Regardless, EW.COM just announced the scene-chewing role has been cast: Beverly Todd will assume the role on April 3 as Lexie’s psychic mom for a multi-episode arc.
Wishing Boyd all the best and a speedy recovery. No one says, “Dane-ger” like the camp-tastic actress.
DIRTY SOAP — More Mama Bjorlin?
• For all you DIRTY SOAP fans out there craving your Mama Fary Bjorlin fix, there’s some progress being made on the possibility of a second season. According to Farah Fath, the actress tweeted that the cast “will find out in 3 weeks if it’s picked up again.” So, if you want to keep seeing those unscripted, behind-the-scenes moments, keep those cards, letters, emails, tweets and phone calls coming to E!
If there is a second season, it sounds like the Gerings will not be included, as well as Kirsten Storms. Who would you like to join season two if the reality soap is green lit? I say, Y&R’s Melody Thomas Scott!
GENERAL HOSPITAL, ABC/CITY — Gilding the Lilley: Kirsten Storms Out! Robin IS Dying!
• Jen Lilley got her wish: According to SOAP OPERA DIGEST: Kirsten Storms, who was set to return to the role of GH's Maxie at the end of this month, will not be back as planned. The actress has been on medical leave since September. According to a statement from a GH rep, “Kirsten Storms will not be able to return to GH as soon as originally hoped and announced. Jen Lilley will continue to play Maxie Jones for the foreseeable future.” In this week’s DIGEST, Lilley, who has her fans, suggested she return to GH as a new character with a different hair colour. Hey, the way GH is going, she could play dead Georgie! I wish Storms a speedy recovery…. Miss you!
• According to TV GUIDE MAGAZINE, ABC is considering making GH a prime-time series for the summer season. But with THE REVOLUTION tanking in the ratings, maybe that’s a bit premature since ABC head honhco-rita Anne Sweeney said: “let the best show win.” I think it has — and its name is ONE LIFE.
• Is GH recasting the role of Michael Corinthos? It sure sounds like it, according to a recent casting breakdown. Um, two words, Cartini: Drew Garrett! Here’s the casting notice: The soap is seeking someone “18-24 very open-ended; looking for all ethnicities, just want a ‘dynamic’ actor with a ‘strong presence.’” My CV is in the mail.
• Oh, crap: According to SOAP OPERA DIGEST, although Cartini has modified Robin’s exit story somewhat, expect the heroine to perish in an unexpected way! Look for Patrick to learn about Robin’s health next week — and support her. Long live, Scrubs! PS: Get your slutty vajayjay away from Patrick, Liz! Oh, I kid…
• As I reported last week, at press time, Kassie DePaiva and Roger Howarth are only slated to film two episodes as their ONE LIFE character on GH to help usher in permanent Kristen Alderson. I caught up with Alderson in L.A. for drinks, and she’s psyched to be on the popular show. She began taping Jan. 17. Good luck!
As for which reel she’s submitting for the Daytime Emmy Awards, the always snubbed ONE LIFE starlet tells UNCENSORED: “I’m letting the producers pick my reel. Anytime I feel I have good material, I’m always omitted,” she sighed. Now that she’s living in L.A., would she considering joining the cast of DIRTY SOAP? “Yes,” she answered. Throw in Nic Robuck, and I’m there, too!
• This from Raven Beauty: Guys, I have just heard from someone behind the scenes who has always been on the money. I am being told that certain interested parties are watching how many people tune in to GH through ABC.COM or their mobile devices. Those are tabulated instantly, and they are watching like a hawk right now! This person could not stress enough just how important it is right now that you begin watching GH through your mobile device or ABC.com (better through their own website) even if you have already seen it. Just let it run in the background! This is huge! There are 5,000 of you out here. I have almost 7,400 hits per day at my Spoiler site alone (my counter). That's a lot of people right there. We can help to make an impact! Please begin watching it a second time through the website or through one of your devices, and just let it run (and of course tune in through television as you always have)! VIP! It's called covering your bets and we need to!
• Uh, oh: TMZ is reporting Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo is being sued by ex-boyfriend/baby daddy Brian Austin Green! According to the site, the BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 star has slapped a lawsuit on Marcil Giovinazzo, claiming she defaulted on a loan he gave her for over $200,000. Maybe its time for Brenda to come back to GH, huh?
• She’s not my sister, she’s my mama: Or How To Wreck A Show WIth Another Needless and Senseless Retcon: Yesterday, GH sent fans into a tailspin with the nonsensical reveal that Johnny is actually Claudia’s son not brother! Apparently, according to an interview with DIGEST, Sarah Brown was aware of the possibility while she was on GH. If you noticed the sexual sparks between La Brown and Brandon Barash, this would have been one heck of an Oedipal complex! Yet, very understandable.
One gripe: Was it wise for Sonny to tell Johnny that the woman his son killed was his mother? Oh, wait: Sonny’s isn’t smart. Scratch that.
ONE LIFE TO LIVE, ABC — Daytime’s Second Highest-Rated Program!
• It’s a reel-life soap Agnes Dixon would be ashamed of: According to insiders, head scribe Ron Carlivati had to go above exec producer Frank Valentini’s handsome head to ABC — gasp! — to get his critically-acclaimed FRAT ROW story on the air! Apparently, a concerned Valentini was against the storyline, but in the end, Ron won out. Writers: 1 Producers: 0
• Congrats to Nic Robuck, who according to reports has booked The CW's soap friendly Ringer, starring fellow ex-soaper Sarah Michelle Gellar. Great casting, because Robuck can act! It’s just too bad about his looks… Sarah Michelle Gellar whispered to me at the GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS she’s the reason why there are myriad of soapers joining the show. Long live, Kendall!
• Future Emmy winner Ilene Kristen tells UNCENSORED she’s not happy ONE LIFE cut her final scenes in which Roxy travels to New York to save FRAT ROW, which was originally written to be saved. Get in line, honey!
• The final ratings aren’t in for ONE LIFE’s perfect final but preliminary reports show that the soap earned a 1.6 in the all-important W18-49 demo. To put it in perspective, all this according to DAYTIMECONFIDENTIAL.COM, Y&R usually nets a 1.5, so expect ONE LIFE to at least beat B&B for second place in total audience! Go Llanview!
Moreover, DC is reporting that for the week of Jan. 9, ONE LIFE was the second most-watch program — not soap — in the same demo! Yep, it even beat THE VIEW!
• More insanity: While critics prefer if Prospect Park relinquished the rights to AMC and ONE LIFE, an insider tells UNCENSORED that PP has secured over 100 million dollars to produce these soaps. “They have the money,” the source whispered. “But they want all the actors to go non-union. And they are going after the financially-strapped ones. It’s gross.”
True. As previously reported, the fledgling — and arrogant — studio recently met with the unions again, albeit unsuccessfully. According to the mole, “If Prospect Park produces AMC and ONE LIFE within the year, then ABC will lease the shows for the next ten years. And yes, sadly, producing the show in Canada with non-union actors is still the plan!” Oy vey! Luckily, the clock is ticking… and PP is being threatened by two other deals in the works by more well-intentioned companies.
• What did ONE LIFE fan and alum Crystal Chappell think of the show’s final show? “I loved it,” she tells UNCENSORED. “It went out on a high note. It was perfect.”
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS — Major Returns! Scoop: Darnell’s Storyline!
• Y&R will welcome back Signy Coleman as Hope’s ghost on Feb. 17 for a big storyline involving her son, Adam. Also, Yvonne Zima is back as the much hated Daisy. Next week, Jeffrey returns in the form of Ted Shackelford! Well, two out of three isn’t bad!
• Finally, stunt casting I can approve of: TV GUIDE is reporting Screen Actors Guild president Ken Howard has joined the number-one soap! Ac
cording to the magazine, Howard is tapped to play Phyllis and Avery's father. Howard's first airdate is slated for Feb. 23. Now this could be good. As an aside, it doesn’t look like the rumour that Avery will hook up with Michael is true. Yet.
• Sorry, Angie: Cliff and Jesse reunite! Don’t expect Darnell Williams to immediately interact with “the black cast.” Nope, Williams’ character, which is being kept under wraps, will be involved in a storyline involving Peter Bergman’s Jack! Hmmm…
• Y&R went on location to shoot Cane and Lily’s upcoming nuptials! Good times… Meanwhile, Daniel Goddard is finally winning people over on the set — and it looks like his bad karma is over for now. Good boy!
•In story 411, Phick play video games before they phuck; Paul gets closer to the truth regarding Myrna; Gen betrays Jack; and Victor and Nikki make love after TGVN is released from prison. Yep, looks like Sharon and Victor’s Kardashian-style marriage is kaput. Hello: Shadam!
