PRE-ORDER BETWEEN HEAVEN & HELL: A ONE LIFE TO LIVE TRIBUTE

  Hi, loyal soaper!

  UNCENSORED QUOTES OF THE WEEK:

“It was the same thing I submitted for the pre-nominations, which was Carly’s detox. It was just me and three really wonderful day players. There wasn’t a great deal of dialogue on my part, but it was a good script with good direction. Carly was detoxing and hallucinating, and thinking that she is hearing her son. I really enjoyed the storyline and I think I talked about that with you at that time. It was very much a collaborative story we told. I am happy just for that reason that the nomination happened. A lot of people worked very hard on it.”

—Crystal Chappell in her latest Michael Fairman ON AIR, ON SOAPS interview

Translation: Those three day players were the most talented actors I’ve ever worked with. They didn’t try to throw me under the bus!

“I called my publicist, Leslie Penny, and we listened to the TODAY show together as Kathie Lee and Hoda read off the nominees, So that is how I found out. [My husband] Michael [Sabatino] is always so sweet, as are family and friends. Then, the B&B camp called to congratulate me! They are such classy people! I have to tell you, they are the nicest group of people. Fans were supportive and congratulatory, and I am especially happy for people who liked watching Carly and liked the story. It is a nice thing for them, too.”

  —Chappell in the same interview

Translation: DAYS didn’t call but they can suck my left tit!

“I turn into a little girl when you mention her name! (Laughs) It’s so true! I remember meeting her for the first time and thinking, ‘Oh, my God. That’s Viki. Don’t look stupid.’ I was such a fan, and am such a fan. I remember when I first met her I was tongue-tied. That means the world to me to hear that Erika said that [she was thrilled I was nominated alongside her]. That is just beautiful. She is a powerhouse.”

  —Chappell-erella

Translation: But I’m still going to kick her ass and win this thang!

“Yes! It’s great that the DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS are in Los Angeles this year. We will have a leading ladies’ lunch and that is always a blast. But, we do invite other people though. It’s the ladies plus some, because that is what we do. We have champagne and a good time. Laura Wright better pick up the bill! (Laughs).”

  —Chappell

Translation: She’ll probably bring in her own wine, Standing Sun; cheap bitch!

“ONE LIFE was nominated for top drama series, along with GH, DAYS, and Y&R.”

—NEW YORK DAILY NEWS reports on this year’s DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS nominations

  Translation: We wish.

“Sunny Los Angeles sure beats cold Wisconsin.”

—Sean Kanan in SOAP OPERA DIGEST

  Translation: Suck my &*$#, Y&R.

"She's hysterical — so amazing. [Susan Lucci] missed her true calling. She's a strong comedic actress and the loveliest person you'd ever meet. Not at all the soap opera diva.”

—Eva Longoria on casting Lucci in DEVIOUS MAIDS

Translation: Unlike those Y&R bitches I used to work with!

  BREAKING NEWS

  TWO Y&R ACTORS FIRED!

There is a God: While I don’t wish unemployment on anyone, UNCENSORED is happy to report that one of the most maligned actresses in the business, Yvonne Zima, has been let go as Daisy. Insiders confirm to UNCENSORED that the controversial hair model has been let go from Y&R — and she won’t be back. The actress filmed her last scenes this week. Another controversial actor has been let go but, because UNCENSORED can’t reveal whom as it would spoil a major story twist, that news will have to wait. However, here’s a hint: the actor in question will finish filming his last scenes next week. Remember: UNCENSORED is your number-one source for all things Y&R! Stay tuned.

  THIS JUST IN

DO OR DIE: DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS IN JEOPARDY!

What if you threw a party and no one tuned in? Well, according to a NATAS insider, the DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS will not stream online or air on TV when the ceremony takes place on June 23 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. “We’re still not sure,” says the mole. “We are waiting for ourselves to find out from our management, and obviously the entire Daytime community is on hold, too. It’s almost past the point of no return for a production that has anything remotely resembling quality, but we are still hopeful.”

  SOAP COUP E’TAT

  Is it June 1st yet?

I never thought I’d be happy to hear that network interference was on its way! With everyone and their daisy dukes up in arms over the systemic destruction of daytime’s number-one soap opera, Y&R. But there is hope. On June 1, Angelica McDaniel — who was promoted from SVP, Daytime, CBS Entertainment, a position that had been vacant for the past year, since Barbara Bloom left in January 2011 after eight years, to CBS Daytime President — will officially take over the reins of Y&R and B&B.

Sources insist to UNCENSORED that CBS will be making its voice heard — and making changes when McDaniel takes over.

Expect a major bloodbath and a few changes behind-the-scenes if Maria Arena Bell doesn’t change direction fast.

According to a DEADLINE.COM article a few months ago: In her new role, McDaniel will oversee CBS’ daytime lineup, including dramas Y&R and B&B, game shows THE PRICE IS RIGHT and LET’S MAKE A DEAL, as well as THE TALK, reporting to CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler. It has been a fast rise for McDaniel, who joined CBS in August 2010. She most recently served as VP, Current Daytime Programs, overseeing THE TALK, and will continue to shepherd the day-to-day creative affairs for the talk show. “Angelica has made invaluable contributions to the launch and success of THE TALK,” Tassler said. “Her strategic and creative vision and understanding of the daytime landscape will continue to move CBS Daytime in the right direction as this successful and profitable day part continues to evolve.” Before joining CBS, McDaniel was a creative executive in the Telepictures/Warner Bros. program development department.
