“ I’m a Doctor not a super hero, I don’t know how you came to this conclusion. It is my job to look after the sick and injured and I always do my job to the best of my ability, no matter who I’m caring for.”

“ Well, we are thankful because if it wasn’t for you we would all be much older than we are now and we would much rather attain our age through the normal and much more gradual process than travelling through a time rift.”

“ Okay, thankyou every body. Thankyou for appreciating what I do, although to really say thankyou it will take much more than a small get together like this.”

“ Oh, what will it take? A twenty-one gun salute, a Scottish Highland band, perhaps a medal from one of the admirals at star fleet?”

“ Is that the best you can think of? Well, if that’s all there is I’ll settle for all three. I’m not just a hologram you know.”

Everybody around the table started laughing.

  * * * *

Joel Cairo pulled out a small gun and aimed it at Sam. “ Please put your hands behind your head as intend to search your offices.”

Sam put his hands up behind his head and started to laugh.

“ What are you laughing at?” snarled Joel.

Sam quickly whipped around and grabbed the gun out of Joel’s hand and grabbed him by the coat. “ What are you going to do?” Joel sniveled when Sam slapped him.

“ Why should I let any two bit thug come and stick me up?” He slapped him again smiling. “ When you’re slapped, you’ll take it and like it.” With that Sam punched Joel Cairo and he fell back onto a chair unconscious.

The Captain’s COM badge beeped and he rolled his eyes, would he never get through this holo-program? “ Hemorrhoid here.”

It was Lieutenant Beani-Poohs. “ Captain did you forget I was making dinner for you tonight?”

He had forgotten, but he tried to act like he hadn’t. “ What time is it? Have you started cooking dinner yet?”

Beani-Poohs was clever, she had seen the captain going into the holodeck forty minutes ago. “ I haven’t started yet, I was just making sure you would be here.”

“ I have a better idea. Put on a formal dress and met me in holodeck three in fifteen minutes.”

“ I’ll need more time than that to get ready.”

“ It doesn’t matter. Whatever time you make it, I’ll be there.”

He signed off with a smile.

The Captain spoke to the computer. “ End program. Now start program Casablanca, Rick’s place. The dining room.”

Star yawns four will be coming soon…
