This book is a work of fiction and any resemblance to persons, living or dead, or places, events or locales is purely coincidental. The characters are productions of the author’s imagination and are used fictitiously.

  Author’s Note

The aim of this story is not to glorify mental depravity nor the criminal actions that transpire from individuals suffering from depression. To me, physiological ailments are fascinating. Each one of us has a unique personality with individual preferences and desires, and deal with troubled thoughts. This human aspect has inspired me to take this personal fascination, and put it to script; to create a shocking, revealing, and disturbing plot surrounding these traits.

Stricken by depression in the past, I can relate to those seriously considering, who have attempted, or successfully accomplished…euthanizing themselves.

The Pope will tell you those who engage in such life-ending action, whether they are believers in Christ or not, are doomed to an eternity in Hell, as suicide is the unforgivable sin. This is widely preached in the Catholic Church, and accepted by much of its congregation.

Until recently I was unaware of the term “Unforgivable Sin.”

Through Biblical research I find that there is in fact such a crime.

But God’s Word does not point out that suicide is the basis for this unpardonable act.

Jesus addresses the unforgivable sin in Matthew 12:31-32: “And I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, neither in this age nor in the age to come.”

This matter is also addressed in Mark 3:28-29: “I promise you that any of the sinful things you say or do can be forgiven, no matter how terrible those things are. But if you speak against the Holy Spirit, you can never be forgiven. That sin will be held against you forever.”

Before we discover what God’s solution to sin is, we should deduce how sin is defined. In 1 John 3:4 it is revealed that “Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.” Through the writings of Paul, as he was inspired by the Holy Spirit in Romans 6:23, we gain insight into God’s resolution. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Here is what Jesus instructs us to do with our lives in Matthew 22:37-40: ‘“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

With what we’ve read and learned, answer this question for yourself: Is suicide a sin?

Everyone has had a close call in their life; a moment where in the matter of a split second their life could have drastically changed for the worse. If you disagree, consider childbirth. Here is a statement I found on aboutkidshealth.ca: “The most profound change at birth is your baby’s first breath. At this point, your baby’s lungs, which were filled with fluid during pregnancy, must suddenly fill with oxygen from the air. The fluid in the lungs is removed through the blood and lymph system, and is replaced by air. Your baby’s lungs must be able to exchange oxygen for carbon dioxide. At the same time, vigorous blood circulation in the lungs will begin. The first few breaths after birth may be the most difficult breaths your baby will take for the rest of her life.” Consider that some educated specialists claim this process happens by chance; that there is no predetermined design to the creation of a new born child.

You’ve heard the term: The greatest miracle is the gift of life. It must be frustrating for those who believe this to hear agnostics argue, “Show me a miracle, and then I’ll believe.”

I recently learned of a true story, where a husband murders his wife, gets away with it, and the wife’s lady friend secretly tries to shoot the husband while he is out in his front yard, doing yard work with loud machinery. The woman fires a shot at the man, but misses. The bullet lodges into the trunk of the tree he is working beside. Later, the man chooses to cut the tree down, unaware of the shot fired at him and what’s lodged inside the trunk of that tree. The chainsaw nicks the hidden bullet, sending it flying into the man, and kills him.

Maybe you don’t have a close call that you can think of, but one of the greatest leaders that ever lived, Moses, shares with us in Psalm 91:11: “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” The reason you’re still alive today, reading this message, is because according to God’s Word the Bible you have a guardian angel watching over and protecting you. If you have ever hoped in your heart for proof that our Lord and Creator is one of love and concern, Psalms shows of His dedicated devotion.

To wrap things up, there are expectations I have with each story I write; and that is to tie in a Biblical message for my readers to be aware of or consider. I acknowledge there are those that reject God, or go through great lengths to avoid the teachings of the Bible.

There are those who can’t understand why someone would dedicate so much personal time in sharing God’s Word. I’ll explain. Jesus instructs us to love our Lord wholeheartedly. By giving in to this teaching you gain a greater love for those around you. Concern in your heart will build for the people that are without the hope of joy, and above all spiritual safety! It’s my prayer that I may find a way to reach those who are lost, to share with them the greatest gift of all…salvation from eternal damnation.

In the end those who are sentenced to such a horrifying place will have time for serious considerations. But by then it will have already been too late. The warnings were in front of them during their entire lives. But if you stop and consider why someone would choose to ignore the warnings, it’s because they are unwilling to give up their selfish heart. That heart is what deceives them into believing they are in control of their destiny, or that God would be forgiving after they’ve chosen to ignore Him for most of their life. Jesus tells us Himself in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
