In the moment of silence that ensued I realised something of tremendous importance, not only to the world as a whole, but to me personally.
There would be no longer any racial or religious barriers. The only thing that was required was that we give our allegiance to the King. I looked at Dharwad. He looked at me.
In the midst of the crowd everything else became irrelevant - almost invisible. Dharwad looked directly into my eyes and, with the crowd as witnesses, and the presence of the King to give the moment an irrevocable authority, said “Bailey, will you put your feet under my table?”
My response needed no more thought. I replied, “Your table is my table. Your family is my family. Your children are my children. Yes, I will put my feet under your table.”
IT IS TIME TO CONTRIBUTE SOMETHING POSITIVE.
You are no longer a child. As an adult man or woman your beliefs and ideas have as much right to be heard and respected as those of anyone else. They are a part of you and as such have valid place in this world.
If you had written this book you would have done it differently. That is neither good or bad. It is just a fact. I leave you with the question. Of all the thoughts and ideas that you have seen expressed by the author, that you have interpreted as reflecting something of his belief in who God is, which one do you most strongly disagree with? Test the strength of your own convictions and the strength of your own belief in yourself by sharing this with the group. If you are doing this by yourself, then write it down and see how you feel about seeing your own belief written in black and white.

ABOUT CHAPTER ONE
Chapter one is a lead in to the story that has been used in the adult version of the book to introduce the reader to the main characters of the book and reduce the shock of going straight into the child mode of reading.
It is my hope as the author that the reader will now be able to accept the role of becoming a child with Bailey and growing through puberty and into adulthood with her. To some extent this follows the pattern of Jesus’ teaching. A lot of his teaching was in the form of children’s stories.
QUESTION. To what extent do you see the principle of using children's stories in teaching life values and matters of faith in today's society?
Have patience with me while I point out one more thing about the introduction. Being a stand-alone introduction, it does not form a part of the ongoing story. It is, in fact a new creation. It is the beginning of what I hope will become the sequel to this book. In this way it has some similarities with the earth as it is described in the first two verses of the Bible, in the book of Genesis, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty - -" Like that early earth, it has not yet revealed the shape that it is destined to have. Even I, as the author, do not yet know what shape this introduction will take when it becomes a book in its own right.
PLEASE PAUSE HERE. It is time to come to The Great One and let His Presence hover over you as it did over the new creation of material matter. Expect that it will be the same for you as it was then. The hovering will precede the speaking.
DISCUSS any thoughts, ideas or mind pictures that have come to you in this introductory session. Click here to return to reading.
