CHAPTER 9

  IN THE DEN OF CO-CONSPIRITORS

“Cardinal Rossini, I understand from my lieutenants, that you wanted to meet personally. But you wouldn’t discuss any details with them. But forgive the hood; it was necessary to keep this location secret.”

“Yes, Giovanni Jesuppi, I have come here in secret to discuss great matters that may affect your financial wellbeing, if the plans by the new Pope ever come to pass. Your empire cannot exist if the Church becomes more popular and powerful. If the faithful become more zealous in their faith, you will lose your clients.”

“But Cardinal Rossini, you must jest, how can such a thing ever happen in this materialistic world? People love greed, sex, power; I can’t believe that would ever change.”

“But it could Giovanni, if this Pope is allowed to succeed. That is why I have come to beg you to enjoin your resources, here and abroad, to find ways to kill the new Pope, and prevent his plans from taking hold. I know you have your resources and contacts. Surely you can understand the implications, if this were allowed to occur.”

“Well, Cardinal Rossini, I will consider your arguments and see what can be done in our mutual interest, with my worldwide resources. But you must understand that we also act in secrecy, and things will happen without your knowledge or ability to stop once things happen. So do not attempt to contact us again, or there will be repercussions.”

“By all means Giovanni, thank you.” “Thank you! My men, Cardinal Rossini will escort you again in secret to a private location.”

  THE ILLUMINATI

A vastly different type of group is meeting secretly within the chambers of the Vatican. Their heads cloaked in monks habit to help shield their identities, sit in a circular series of numbered chairs. Their robust chatter is protected from roving ears by the soundproof room. The discussions focused on the paradox of their need for extreme secrecy, protecting the status quo, and now with the new revelations by Jesus Himself asking for an about face of how and by whom the church will govern itself at the exclusion of others.

Number 22 stands and exclaims. “These are truly unprecedented times as revealed by the recent miracles. This has been a declaration of war! Our way of life and control will be demolished if we do not take effective actions to stop the new pope from putting in all these changes as he is proposing.”

“I know as you do that there are a number of cardinals who are very unhappy with the changes that are going to take place, and will do whatever they can to prohibit them from taking place. I, for one, understand their displeasure. I will be among them to keep tabs on their efforts. But we have worldwide resources and contacts to derail any of the Pope’s plans. We need to be vigilant and assist in making sure any of their plans will be individually successful; however, surrepticiliously in order to keep our actions and identity secret. If your actions are insufficient please get more of our members involved and use our resources. If you agree, raise your hands!”

“By your unanimous agreement, this is now our direction. For the sake of the continued existence of the Illuminati, we must not fail, and as always be vigilant. We will send out an immediate alert worldwide to our extended network for their vigilance in support of this action.”

In the order of their assigned seat, they rise in succession of five minutes apart, in order to not raise suspicion of their identities or whereabouts to each other or outsiders. As they leave the inner chamber, they pass into an antechamber leaving their cloak and proceeding out of one of thirteen locked doors to various parts of the Vatican secret corridors, catacombs, or confessional passages. In order to guarantee their secrecy, the antechamber is setup to light a light on each side of a door to indicate its use by an individual. The locks are also set up to allow only one person at a time to enter the chamber from outside entrances. Because of the locations of the thirteen doors, no one can see any of the other entrances from any one door.
