Christmas. He wanted to hug his entire family at once and give Stacy a big sloppy kiss on the lips. His mind was racing so fast, he didn’t know what to do first. He settled on calling Stacy and telling her to come over. She asked where he had been and he said he would explain it later, and then he went to take a quick shower.
Stacy arrived just as he was getting dressed. He ran to her and gave her the kiss he had been anticipating. He felt an object between them and looked down to see her holding a small box.
“I found this outside the door.” She held out a square box; a snow globe. He took it from her and this time it did have a return address, his grandmother’s. He smiled and set it on the table.
“I stopped by earlier. Where were you?” Stacy said.
“Oh…Just out getting something.” He didn’t want to mention being inside the snow globe for fear that she would think he was losing his marbles.
“What happened to the other snow globe that was on the table?” She asked, as if reading his mind.
“I packed it away with the others.”
“So you actually left the house for something? Shock me, shock me.”
“Sure did, and here it is.” He gave her her present. She opened it and sprouted tears of joy. This made Richard tear up himself, and at the same time, he understood what he had been missing in his life for the past few years.
He announced that he wanted to visit his entire family this Christmas, and hers as well, so they better get a move on. Stacy couldn’t belive this changed man in front of her. She didn’t know how to take it, but she liked it.
On the way to their relatives, Richard told Stacy that he wanted her to move in with him. She was reluctant at first, but after some heavy persuasion, she agreed. After all, he was acting like a new man. They spent the entire day with people he hadn’t bothered to contact in years and made plans do this sort of thing more often. Richard’s appearance made everyone’s Christmas brighter, and Richard himself felt better than he had ever remembered. They ended the night curled in each others arms dreaming of the sweetest things life had to offer.

A year later, Richard and Stacy had gotten married at a huge church with a gathering so big, some people had to stand for the ceremony. At the reception they celebrated two things, the love and happiness of the newlywed Mr. and Mrs. Shriver, and the publication of Richard’s new book, “The Globe”.
