David put Tullius Varen’s encyclopaedia down and ran his hands through his hair. His brain ached, he’d been translating Latin for over three hours now and he needed a break. He sat back on the chair and sighed. Maybe he should go out for a bite to eat and a drink?
He could hear laughter coming from the office and he remembered that Marcus had wandered through the library a while go, dressed casually in jeans and a T-shirt, but as usual without any shoes. He obviously didn’t have a meeting today and had some free time. For a moment David thought about the previous night and the way he’d been welcomed by the two men and given the book to read. He actually had it with him in his bag. Curious, he got it out and opened it on the first page. His grandmother always said that a change was as good as a rest, so he settled down to read something completely different.
