With things on the world stage changing so fast, it pays to read the headlines through the lens of prophecy.
There are a few questions that make projecting the future of the United States difficult. What will the present and future administrations do with Israel? Will America change its policy of being good to the Jews and the people of Israel? It is no accident that America has been the best supporter of that nation in obedience to the everlasting covenant God made with Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3). That is the key to the greatness of this country; we have been better to that special nation and its people than any nation in the history of the world. God still blesses those who reach out and bless Israel.
Will that be the case at the time of the Rapture? Only God knows. If the present estimate of “born again” or Bible believing Christians is accurate (35%-45%), can you imagine what the Rapture will do to America? Christians occupy every legitimate profession in the nation. Suddenly removing a third or more of the doctors, nurses, health care providers, teachers, police, firefighters, ministers, and millions of business leaders would subject this country to such hopeless chaos, it would take more than the seven-year Tribulation to straighten it out.
No wonder the Bible is silent on the future of America. Only God knows whether the next few elections will find the silent majority of Christians who do not bother to vote or become informed choosing to vote a Christian worldview; He has not chosen to reveal that to us. However, if we are the generation that will see the Rapture, we should soon find out.
TEST YOUR PROPEHCY IQ—ANSWER
The Euphrates River runs the full length of Iraq—from Turkey to the Persian Gulf. It lies in the path of any land-based advance toward Israel from the east. In the sixth Bowl Judgment (Revelation 16:12), the Euphrates will dry up, preparing the way for the armies of Antichrist to assemble at Megiddo.
