The following Monday started normally. Jay went through his emails and drank an Americano coffee. He was pleased it was going to be a short week. He was also inexplicably looking forward to travelling in four days’ time, despite his apprehensions. Jay rehearsed the plan over and over again in his head. This was normal behaviour whenever he was uncertain. The three months before his university exams were spent in much the same way. Rehearsing took his mind off things and lessened the likelihood of stress. Jay switched to Tae Kwon Do as boredom crept in, practising moves in his head whilst trying not to draw attention to himself from others in the office. Jay felt ready, but not necessarily prepared. He decided that whatever was going to happen would happen. He would have to put his trust in fate.
