One week later the phone rang in Father Fred’s home.
‘Father Fred, I have a photocopy of a letter you sent the advertising agency regarding the use of a colon in the wording. I also have a copy of the letter you sent of the words you decided on and sent the advertising agency. The festival committee never approved the letter and wording. That letter you sent them has a semi colon in the wording. The advertising agency put on the sign as instructed by you and stand by what is on the sign,’ said Judy Hetherington.
Judy Hetherington was not of the religious persuasion of Father Fred. Judy was asked by the committee to inform Father Fred of the situation. All other members of the festival committee were of the religious persuasion of Father Fred and were too overwhelmed to ring him themself.
‘Judy, all things being equal I do not believe you. The original letter is needed, not a fake photocopy and please ask Patricia to contact me in future,’ said Father Fred.
‘Father, I’m the liaison person and I’ll pass on your comments to Patricia. Have a nice day,’ said Judy Hetherington.
Judy Hetherington hung up the phone and looked at Patricia Overton, her friend, and said, ‘The sign stays.’
