Read Traitor's Destiny Page 4

And then The Mastermind appeared. His hood covered his face, so that we could not see his head. He was dressed from head to toe with a black cloak, much like Bolt’s. He carried a thin staff in one hand, and was a crooked, bent old figure.

“This is The Mastermind? The so-called Great One? The Mastermind is a crooked old man?! Gee whiz, I don’t see how you’re so powerful, you ol—”

“I DO SEEM WEAK, DON’T I?” The Mastermind chuckled. “OR AM I REALLY AS WEAK AS SEEM?” Just as he finished speaking, he did a gigantic backflip and landed on a platform leading to the very top of The Mastermind’s headquarters. “CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, HEMELTAIN AGENTS!” He cackled in mad fury as the stand rose up through a hole in the roof.

“Should we get him?” Thomas asked.

I nodded. And so we raced after him.

When we got to the top, The Mastermind was already there. He raised his lightning staff and tried to zap us. The bolt of electricity whizzed past my chest and hit the ground.

“I’LL CUT YOU!” I screamed. Rushing at The Mastermind, I used my sword to attack him. But The ‘Great One’ deflected the blow with his stick. “NOT SO STRONG, ARE YOU, LITTLE CHILD?!”

“YOU FIEND! FRAUD! IDIOT! DOLT! DUNDERHEAD! BIRDBRAIN! BANANABRAIN! BLOCKHEAD! NICOMPOOP!”

The Mastermind unleashed a torrent of lightning. I deflected it with my sword, and it went back at him. The Mastermind ducked, and I charged. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” My blow was so wild that I accidently knocked off The Mastermind’s hand. “AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” The Mastermind screamed. He threw off his cloak, took a deeeeep breath, and calmed down, or so we thought. “oh, so this is a game, is it! HEeheeheeheeheehee! Ho ho, hah hah! Hee, ha, ho ho ho! Hehehehehe! Hoohoohoo! Gimmy gummy goomy! Gimmy gummy goomy goomy gummy gimmy! Bleh, bleh! Bloo, bloo, booey bum! Bloop, bleepeedee-blop, blecky blecky bloop! Gummy, gimmy gummy hoohoohoo heeheeheehee ho ho hehehehe bleh bleh bloo booey bum bum bopeedee-blop!” And he started shooting lightning bolts off in all directions.

  “He’s gone mad, hasn’t he?” I whispered.

Thomas nodded. “Yes, he has. The weirdo.”

“you will die. Hehehe!” The Mastermind used his staff to create a huge bolt of lightning. He charged up and unleashed his attack. BOOM! The ground shook as the blast of light hit the ground. Not surprisingly, the bolt wasn’t even close to me.

I charged. The ‘Crazymind’ charged. Thomas charged. We all charged.

  BOOM!

  “AARGH!”

The last thing I remembered was a huge explosion in a mushroom cloud, then a loud scream. This one scream was jam-packed of a large variety of emotions. It was full of anger, surprise, fury, madness, and fatality. I also remember hearing voices calling, “THOMAS! EDWARD! THOMAS! EDWARD!!” Then, all was dark.

  Chapter Thirtean

I fluttered my eyes. The Mastermind? Oh no, not again! I blinked again. Now The Mastermind was a face. What was going on?

“Edward! I’m so glad you’re awake!”

  I recognized that voice! “L-lord...Hemeltain?”

I heard a chuckle. “Yes, it is me, Edward!”

“How long have I been asleep?”

“3 ½ days. Thank goodness we found you two! You both blacked out!”

  “The Mastermind! What happened?”

“Ah, yes! Well, it seems that he, eh, well, I killed him.”

  “What?”

“Yes, I did. The force of the collision caused The Evil One to fly backward and, well, I poured a Beaker of Light into his mouth. He was so evil, he died. You can’t kill him any other way.”

“After all, you were down and out. If I hadn’t done something, you two would have been killed. I could have been killed.”

“What did The Mastermind look like? You know, beneath his...hood?”

Lord Hemeltain tried his best to smile. “Well, eh...remember when I made that prophecy?”

“Really? I thought that was fake. You know, that was kind of random, and well, it didn’t make sense.”

“Well, yes, that. Anyhow, when I lifted up the hood, I saw a shadow. The shadow screamed, and then turned into a dense black vapor.”

  “So...so...so you m-mean that....?” I was horror-struck.

“Yes, yes, my prediction was correct. Bolt was the traitor in your team, the bunch of you was three, and The Mastermind...was nothing. He must have been something once, of course, but...he was nothing. Nothing at all.” Lord Hemeltain said.

“Oh. Then...what happened to you when the base was destroyed?”

“I got away and went into hiding. I used a communication secrecy transmitter to find you, and then I arrived just in time with Thomas’s father to stop The Mastermind.”

  “I understand completely.”

“Good. Now, Dimension #3 is finally a home.”

Home. What was that? Home. I hadn’t thought about my home back on Earth. It was so tantalizing. Home.

  “Um, excuse me, Lord Hemeltain?”

  “Yes?”

“Do you think you could transmit me back to...Earth?”

“Of course, Edward! We have that kind of technology, thanks to you.”

  “Me?”

“Yes, you. We took your invention into my laboratory, and of course...”

“...You studied it. Right. Can I...have it back?”

“Of course! You can travel between here and...what was it called? Eeth?”

  “Earth.”

“Oh right, that. So, let me find it...oh, it’s right behind me!” Hemeltain handed The S.F.S.F.D.M. to me.

“Thanks for everything! I’ll visit someti—”

“Wait a second!” Thomas ran up to me. “Aren’t you going to say good-bye to me?”

  “Of course! Good-bye, Thomas!”

  “See you later!”

  And then I was gone.

How did The Mastermind come to power? What happened to Dimension #3 before the Time of Edward?

And why did Bolt betray Lord Hemeltain?

  Chapter One

here are some primary things you must know about Dimension #3 and The Mastermind:

The Mastermind was a ferocious figure in a dark cloak with a lightning staff. He was evil and notorious. The Mastermind had an evil servant named Bolt, who betrayed his friends. Both were stomped out by Edward, Thomas, and Lord Hemeltain.

But when The Mastermind was finally killed, Hemeltain found that The Mastermind was just a dark vapor. It was nothing.

Lord Hemeltain stated that once The Mastermind was a living being. But what happened? How did pandemonium and chaos come to Dimension #3?

The Mastermind once was not a black vapor. In fact, The Mastermind’s name was not The Mastermind. In fact, his name was Yavin Reckster, and he was a person.

Reckster fought in The Old Wars. The Old Wars were a set of battles that started when Dimension #3 was still developing. This would be about the time of The Middle Ages on Earth.

It was one side versus another. Reckster was the leader of one army. Captain G. Rockwood was the leader of the other. They despised each other, but at that time, Reckster lead the good side. The Old Wars started when a fight over territories began...

  Chapter Won

My name is Edward Jones the III. I live on Earth, although I occasionally visited Dimension #3.

Let me explain. There are important, fundamental things you must know. I built a machine called the Super Fantastic Super Fantastic Dimension Machine, which could transport people to other dimensions. It worked. When I accidently landed in Dimension #3, I was forced to confront The Mastermind, an evil figure in a dark cloak. He had dozens of warriors working for him, along with his right arm, Tobor Bolt. Bolt betrayed our group: Thomas, Lord Hemeltain
, and me. In the end, though, we stamped out The Mastermind and Bolt. I found the S.F.S.F.D.M. and traveled home. I occasionally visited Dimension #3, however.

Unfortunately, bad luck struck the third time I came back...
