Read Vampire King: Cinderella Page 16

Cindy was standing in the king’s chamber staring down at herself in the huge mirror. Emotions swelled inside her, but she fought back her tears. She couldn’t believe that her dreams were finally coming true. She just married the love of her life, the vampire king.

A few months had passed since Caspian rescued her from marrying Londis and Cindy’s life had changed dramatically. Her stepmother, Ida, was in prison for treason and fraud.

As soon as she came back to Farrington, the king’s guards arrested her. She screamed and shouted as the guards took her away. Caspian told Cindy that Ida didn’t deserve any better, and she needed to be taught a harsh lesson.

Cindy felt bad for her, but in a way, she was glad that Ida was being punished. She’d treated her like a slave for years and took advantage of Cindy’s good heart and naive nature.

“Do something! Speak to the king and tell him to spare Mommy!” Susan begged her several weeks ago when she arrived back at her father’s home.

After everything, Cindy decided that Susan and Teresa should stay in her home, knowing that they had nowhere else to go. Besides, she didn’t want to be just like them.

“Prison is the best thing that could have happened to her, Susan. You should be glad, and you should really start thinking about your reputation,” she replied. Both of her stepsisters stared at her with fire in their eyes when the king kissed her. They didn’t dare insult her again, and Cindy hoped that they started thinking about their actions.

Then a few months later, the king proposed to her during dinner and she agreed without hesitation.

“What are you thinking about, my dear?” a voice that sent a shiver down her spine brought her back to the present.

She needed to stop thinking about the past and just be happy. Londis was left behind at his farm and Cindy was never going to see him again. Even Red couldn’t believe that Cindy ended up with the king when she arrived at her home to hand deliver an invitation for the wedding.

Red showed up at the wedding ceremony with another man, ditching the forest ranger once and for all. Later on, she told Cindy that she was taking her future into her own hands too. Cindy still remembered how Charles betrayed her in the tavern, and was silently glad that things turned out this way. She had no idea what happened to him and didn’t care one bit.

“I’m thinking that I’m very lucky being here with you—having you in my life,” she responded, and Caspian wrapped his strong arms around her. Desire pooled into her stomach and she felt a sweet pulse between her legs. Caspian had been fucking her constantly since their wedding night. They barely left his chamber, but tonight they had another ball. He invited several important guests from other kingdoms to celebrate their marriage once again, and they were already late for the party.

Cindy invited Martha and all the girls from the brothel to the wedding.

“I think I might have a bit of a drinking problem,” she admitted to Cindy when a handsome stranger approached her to dance. “But I’ll get myself together. Fairy dust always helps.”

Cindy was sure that Martha was going to be fine, and she was glad that she tripped over her during that night before the ball. Her life would’ve turned out so much differently otherwise.

“No, I’m the lucky one, because we can now age together. It isn’t an issue anymore. It was all for the best, but I still need blood to survive,” Caspian muttered, kissing her neck. She arched her head backwards, thinking that there was something wrong with her hormones. She had a desperate ache between her legs, and she needed to have him again. They had just made love and she even let him drink her blood, pumped with desire. The entire act felt much more erotic and pleasurable than she thought.

“How did we get here?” she asked him, trying to distract herself from lust that continued to build in her system.

She told herself that she needed to stop analysing it for a change. She was finally happy, married to the love of her life, and no one was going to take that away from her.

“Well, I haven’t been totally honest with you either, my Cinderella. We met earlier on, before you showed up at the ball that I threw for Eric. I had changed my appearance and became a forest ranger before that night. We met several times and made out in the bushes when your stepmother caught us and dragged you away,” the vampire king confessed.

Cindy’s jaw dropped. She turned around to face him, remembering all the time she had spent with him believing him to be Charles and exactly what happened that night in the bushes. She’d thought even then that Charles’s skin shimmered in the dim light.

“You were Charles all that time? But how?” she asked, staring at the man she loved.

“I needed to feed, so I borrowed his appearance. You stole my heart that day at the market, when you dropped your groceries, so I kept coming back to town, hoping to see you again. I had never felt so alive being with you. I can’t explain it any other way,” he said and then leaned down to kiss her again. His lips were soft and gentle. The king devoured her like a man starved for intimacy. When he pulled away she was out of breath, but then he started kissing her breasts. She lost her mind when he was around her.

“Yes, I thought there was something different about Charles that day at the market, he was so much more mature and interesting,” she muttered, forgetting about the party and wanting to rip Caspian’s clothes off. Her throat was a little sore, but she wanted him to bite her again or fuck her—or both. Either way, she needed to feel him between her legs again.

“Let’s stay here. I can’t stop kissing you and I want to cherish your beautiful body,” he rasped into her ear and then pulled her dress down. She giggled and stepped out of it, standing in front of him in her underwear—the same knickers that she left when she ran away after finding out that he was a vampire.

His eyes gleamed and she saw scorching desire that made her even wetter.

“Fuck the ball, I need to have you again, Cindy,” the vampire king growled and brought her to his chest. Cindy melted in his arms and thought that this was it. She was in love and happy. She was going to have her happily ever after with the vampire, her own king who would love her forever.
