Read Vexars: Blackmail Page 2

  Part Two

  Tasmania...

The destroyer from Power Hall, Greenland lands outside an ancient looking castle.

“Carl, stay here,” Roger directs. “If we're not back in ten minutes, call for reinforcements from Power Hall, Loyalty Island.” He waves the three female Vexars to follow him and walks inside to a corridor.

“Which way do we go?” Ferarri asks as she glances up and down the hallway in both directions.

“You and Crystal go left,” Roger instructs. “Gloria and I will go to the right. And, watch your step. This place looks like it could have any number of traps hidden in it.”

Gloria follows Roger off to the right. “This isn't much different than a Russian castle.”

“This looks nothing like an American mansion,” Roger's laugh echos through the stone halls.

Gloria and Roger fall through a trap door and land in a room with brick walls.

“What do we do now?” Gloria asks.

“Hope there's a way out,” Roger shrugs and begins pushing bricks, hoping to find a secret passage out of the trap.

Crystal and Ferarri Jeans walk into a gloriously large library. Dusty old books fill the shelves and tables, and even a few of the antique sofas.

“Look at how old some of these books are,” Ferarri states as she blows dust off the copyright date of one book.

“The Origin of the Mob,” Crystal reads. “Sixteen forty-seven.”

“That sounds like a good book,” Ferarri replies. “A Mob Reunion. Seventeen twenty-four.”

  “The Mob Now. Seventeen ninety-six.”

“The New Improved Mob. Eighteen fifty.”

“The Best of the Mob. Nineteen-oh-one.”

“The First Female Mob Leader,” Ferarri loos a little confused as she reads.

  “What's the year?” Crystal asks.

Ferarri holds open the book for Crystal to look at. “She's obviously still writing it.”

Speedy, an African-looking man with short black hair and brown eyes, and Dr. Dirty, an Irish-looking man with short reddigh-orange hair and green eyes, barge into the library.

“What are you doing here?” Dr. Dirty demands as he pulls out the short sword he always carries in a holster on his back.

“We were thinking about checking out a couple of books,” Ferarri answers innocently, unintimidated by Dr. Dirty's sword. “Can you tell us where the check out counter is?”

“Put your hands in the air,” Dr. Dirty demands.

“I'm sorry,” Crystal defies him. “I don't feel like it.”

“Maybe you didn't hear him right,” Speedy draws the gun he always keeps hidden under his black sweatshirt. “Put your hands in the air!”

“Is that thing real?” Crystal asks, looking completely interested in Speedy's gun.

“We'll just take the books we have and leave,” Ferarri inches toward the doorway she and Crystal entered through.

“A wise decision,” Dr. Dirty states. “And, if you tell anyone you saw us here, you'll wish we finished you here.”

Ferarri takes her books and drags Crystal out of the Library.

Crystal and Ferarri exit the castle, and walk to the destroyer, carrying books

“What's going on?” Carl asks as Ferarri and crystal set the librar.y books in the destroyer.

“We found the library,” Crystal answers. “These are books about the Mob.”

“That's a nice choice of reading material,” Carl states sarcastically.

“Carl, maybe you should call for back up now,” Ferarri suggests. “Crystal and I have to go back inside to find Gloria and Roger”

  “Yes, Chief,” Carl salutes.

Crystal follows Ferarri into the castle and down the hallway that Gloria and Roger had previously taken. “I think we should go back out.”

“No,: Ferarri begins as she and and Crystal fall through the same trap door that Gloria and Roger did.

“Fancy meeting you here,” Roger greets.

“Nice place,” Crystal replies. “How do we get out?”

“If we knew that, we wouldn't still be in here,” Roger answers. “This room looks like it might be an old torture chamber.”

The room begins filling with water.

“Where's the water coming from?” Gloria asks.

“Small holes in the walls and floor,” Roger answers. “I hope everyone can swim.”

“All we have to do is wait for the reinforcements I told Carl to call when we dropped off some books about the Mob,” Ferarri states. “We found the library and a couple of mobsters.”

“I guess we head to the library as soon as we get out of here,” Roger directs, still trying to find an alternate way out of their predicament.

Fonz Heart, Roger Hill's best friend, opens the trap door and looks down, his long brown hair and brown leather jacket that he always wears is a sight for sore eyes. He drops a rope ladder down the trap door that the other four Vexars fell through. He and Tommy Jeans, a police officer with short blonde hair and blue eyes, help the four out one at a time.

“How did you find us?” Crystal asks.

“There was a map of the castle in one of those books,” Fonz answers.

“Shall we head to the library?” Roger asks, looking at Ferarri and Crystal to lead the way.

“This place looks very empty,” Carl states as the Vexars enter the library.

Speedy and Dr. Dirty enter along with Leslie Lynn and Sam Porsha.

Leslie Lynn's glowing orange hair is overgrown and hangs down to her knees, and is styled to the right side of her head. Her green eyes shimmer against her pale white skin.

Samuel 'Sam' Porsha is the average business man. His black three-piece suit matches his short black hair. His brown eyes are always looking for an angle.

“I thought we told you two to leave,” Dr. Dirty reminds, drawing his sword from its resting place.

“You have such a beautiful library,” Ferarri begins, “we just had to show it to our friends.”

Fonz Heart begins swinging on a chandelier, his leather jacket swaying in the breeze he's creating. He lets go and lands on Dr. Dirty, knocking the sword out of the mobster's hands and pinning him to the ground.

“Look! Over There!” Tommy Jeans points behind Speedy as the mobster draws his gun. Speedy turns to look and the Vexar punches him in the jaw, forcing the criminal to drop his firearm. Tommy draws his police revolver and holds it on him. “Don't move!”

Leslie Lynn pulls a set of nunchakus from her belt and begins swinging them around. Gloria grabs the female mobster's arm, spins her around a few times, and throws her into a wall on the opposite side of the room. “Do yourself a favor and stay there.”

“Murder isn't one of my specialties,” Sam Porsha states as he pulls his pistol from his jacket pocket. “But I can always add it to the list.”

“Where can I find Blackmail?” Roger demands.

  “No!” Porsha defies.

“Mr. Porsha, remember me?” Fonz Heart asks. “I used to date your daughter Sondra about thirteen years ago.”

“Fonz Heart,” Sam Porsha recalls. “I still don't know what Sondra saw in you.”

“What happened to her?” Fonz asks.

“She ran off,” Sam replies. “And I haven't heard from her since.”

“I'll make a deal with you,” Fonz offers. “If you turn yourself in, we'll find your daughter for you.”

Sam Porsha thinks for awhile then hands his pistol to Fonz and opens a secret wall panel. “Blackmail is in the room that is guarded by two super humans. Don't let her know I showed you in.”

“We won't,” Roger promises as the Vexars walk through the secret panel to a hallway and walk to the only door with any guards.

Claw, a silver plated android with claws instead of hands, wears a red and black spandex pantsuit that covers from his neck down, with the exception of his claws. He has one black eye and one red eye, which are opposite the colors on his uni
form. “Who goes there?”

“You have been watching too many movies. We are new Mob members,” Roger Hill lies.

Sea's sea green hair flows down to her waist. The sea green eye-slits of her mask, as well as her belt, gloves, and boots, match the color of her hair and stand out against the seafoam green of her spandex pantsuit and mask. Her red lipstick stands out against her peach-toned skin. “What's the secret password?”

“No one has told us the password yet,” Roger explains.

“Let me check with my supervisor,” Sea informs as she walks off down the hall to a different room.

Tommy Jeans steps forward and flashes his badge at Claw. “Blackmail called my station about a murder,” he lies.

Claw opens the door and allows Tommy to enter.

“What are you doing here?” Blackmail demands as she pulls a gun from her desk drawer and aims it at Tommy.

“Well, my original plan was to place you under arrest,” Tommy explains.

Blackmail appears to be a business woman with reddish-orange hair down to the middle of her back. Her Irish-green eyes shimmer. Her hot pink sandals match her hot pink suit jacket and stand out against her silver tie and suit pants. Her white shirt brings the entire ensemble together with her apricot skin tone.

Jagenine, a tall woman with a butch haircut, dyed red, and green eyes, barges in, followed by Sea and Claw after the rest of the Vexars enter Blackmail's office.

“Look what we found outside,” Jagenine offers.

“Let them go,” Roger pleads. “It's me you want.” He takes the gun out of Blackmail's hands and removes the toy caps from it.

Crystal Jeans grabs Jegenine's wrist, spins her around, and throws her into Sea.

Tommy Jeans grabs Claw's arms and slams them into the top of Blackmail's desk until they're stuck.

  “Help! I'm stuck,” Claw pleads.

Tommy handcuffs Blackmail's hands behind her back and escorts her out to the destroyer.

Sea uses her super powers to cause the room to begin filling with water. “You may have stopped the rest of them, but you'll never stop me!”

“You are a beautiful woman,” Fonz states as he pulls a bouquet of roses, tulips, dahlias, and carnations from his inside jacket pocket and tries to give them to her.

Sea begins sneezing at the flowers. “I'm allergic to dahlias!”

“Come along quietly,” Fonz orders, “or I'll hold them up to your nose.”

Sea stops blasting water and walks out the door where U.P.C. Officials are ready to take all of the mobsters into custody.

Fonz Heart enters Power Hall, Greenland. “I hope you remember that we promised Sam Porsha that we would search for his daughter, Sondra.”

“I didn't forget,” Roger states as he sits at the tracking computer, pressing various buttons. “The tracking computer can't find her in this dimension.”

  “Is that possible?” Gloria asks.

“It's possible,” Fonz answers. “It's also unusual.” He looks at Roger, his tone obviously wondering what's taking him so long to find his ex-girlfriend.

“Do you know how many different dimensions there are?” Roger asks without looking up. “It's going to take me at least a week to pinpoint the right dimension.”
